I'm now able to see the 36-hour forecast on my STAR (no weather bulletin or local radar) but the hashtag screen is still missing.

TWC IntelliSTAR- Astoria, OR- Oct. 24, 2014- 8:58AM PDT

EDIT: The slightly updated graphics are now working properly on my STAR.

Seeing the end of the national LF is a lot better than seeing the hashtag screen IMO.

I agree.

Also, I caught this on my LF this morning:

Seems that text is only used instead of the hashtag whenever there is a weather alert. Also, the text on the advisory scroll is now black. HUGE improvement over the previous eye-hurting red color.

The local forecast line up is back to the way it is. The second new thing is that the narrator says "Our Local Forecast" and that's it.

Does anyone know if the IS2 has a dual feed music feature? Either that or TWC is doing something because at 4:28 PM I heard "Take a Walk" by Passion Pit and 4:38 PM I heard a weird production song that kind of sounds like the TWC anthem but different? No it's not the one that was added in September, something different. I called a someone I know and they said they haven't heard anything new today, and they were watching at that time? So I'm confused a bit.  :dunno: Can anyone shed some light on this?

As of 4:48 PM I've been hearing the same 3 production songs. Still at 5:28 PM
Also here's the song that I heard play at 4:28 PM. Tell me if you heard it as well.
LF music started at 0:25 on the video.

Yep. I recall at 4:28 hearing that song and at 4:38 with the production. I have xfinity with the headend being Concord, NH.

I forgot to mention I sent an email to TWC asking if new music will be introduced last night, here's the reply I
got. Still a general statement but maybe they are doing some testing?

Thanks for your inquiry. We are currently working on possible music formats. We'll be rolling

Sam, I am going to ask you again to refrain from posting comments like these.  There should be absolutely no reason as to why you cannot share something about the LOT8s publicly on this forum.  I am still confused by your vague comments; do they mean you know a bunch about TWC's future plans but refuse to talk about them in detail because you are not allowed, or do  they mean you simply don't know all the details?  If it's the first, then it's probably best to not post anything at all.  If it's the latter, then please just say that.  There's no reason you need to have someone PM you if they are curious about the music.  If you can't share it publicly on the forum, then you probably shouldn't be sharing it at all.

I agree with Andy. This is a public forum, Sam. If you have something to share, please do. If it's something you can't share, then keep it to yourself. Thanks.

Local on the 8s is celebrating #1 Boss Day. What is up with the pointless holidays thing?

The weather channel, where everyday's a holiday.

Also has anyone noticed the new SWC tone, or rather one very low un-attention grabbing tone followed by Cantore's voice?

Glad they brought it back... to be honest they may have had to bring it back due to FCC regulations.

Next year will really be interesting.... starting in May all weather alert crawls will have to have text to speech audio generated in real time. TV stations will have to install equipment to broadcast a separate audio channel. TWC filed for an extension for this rule citing technology limitations. I'm curious to see how they solve this.

After over 4 years, Atlanta now has the IS2. That was quite the surprise...

EDIT: There's traffic data also, the cities are all the same on the LDL just like it is on the SD feed.

OK I understand everyone's frustration with the Lo8s music posts which were deleted recently.
I got permission from TWC to tell everyone what is happening. This is what was in my email. This is also what SamRichardson92 knows as well.

According to David Blumenthal
First, Production music is increasing to 5, possibly more
Second, changes were recently delayed from November to Early 2015.
Thirdly this is an attempt for sonic branding and the increase of Lo8s music to avoid constant looping.
Fourth as of this time no Pop music is planned for 2014-15.
