I would like if they brought it back. Although I guess what they did is better than nothing. It might not be in their budget to do it I don't know. Although I would like it. I was hoping they would do it on the 10 year Katrina anniversery as a little memory thing or something but they obviously didn't. I would like if they did though.

Just thought I should point something out here I've noticed on TWC recently. During an LF, if the winds are calm, the text no longer says "Calm", but rather "N 0", presumably spelling out the word "no". The LDL, however, will still say "Calm". If there is a wind speed, the LF still reads "[number] mph" as before.

Example pics with the wind text circled:

Yeah I think that's odd why it's doing that, since 0 mph winds are usually variable.

Can someone confirm if Vocal Music played on the 4th? TWCAtlanta uploaded a video and it seems Weezer was sponsoring the LF graphics today? I don't know if it was real or dubbed?

I can confirm that TWC was playing vocal music. They only played Weezer's "Feels Like Summer" though.

Figured it's worth mentioning, yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the debut of the "v2 IntelliStar." Time sure does fly...

If you're trying to make it look real, then allow me to point out all of the mistakes right here:

  • That flavor lineup never existed! During the era of the metro forecast starting with the LF, the radar/satellite product was divided up into six regions instead of four, whenever the regional forecast map was used on a 2:00 flavor
  • The SLF started with the Precipitation forecast/severe alerts product effective 7/1/2008
  • Four out of six regions during your regional forecast product use the 2010 icons
  • Your severe weather warnings maps use the 2003-2005 titlebars. not present during that era at all
  • The radar/satellite products did not use enhanced satellite imagery during this time. That experiment only lasted a week when the graphics changed in late May 2008
  • Your LOT8s corner bug. Firstly, TWC did not debut the LOT8s bug until late August 2008, much less with that font. Secondly, the bug was present during the entire duration of the product, and not just on screen for a few seconds.

I get that what you did was an emulation, but please use your own thread in the emulation videos section instead of posting in this thread, which is meant for discussion on the real thing. ;)
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

Haha, I know that. I was trying to make it look real but at the same give people the idea that it's an emulation. Unfortunately, I don't have any weather data so I had to place whatever sat image I had which in this case had colors. Yes I know this would go into TWC Art and emulations but I wanted to see if I could fool someone.

I posted an update to this in my Emulations topic but unfortunately I don't have that many resources yet so it mixes 2010 and 2008 icons.

07/18/18...3:18AM...Just heard a smooth jazz track on the LF!  This is a song from the recently used list of smooth jazz tracks; nothing 'new'.  It is surprising since I have not heard any smooth jazz since 2017.

Another oddity: an hour earlier, the LF ran silent...no audio other then the 5-second intro.

Ironically, the old look still applies if I were to hit the red button to pull up the CC/EF.

Interesting to point, I was able to acquire your Star IS.. It's nice to see videos from when this system was in full operation! Yes, I have a payphone too!
