The IntelliStar is my second favorite STAR (with the 4000 as a close third), but the XL is my favorite by far. My favorite IntelliStar version would be the 2005-2007, but with the 1998-2006 icons (the new icons don't go very well with this version).

From a non-twc fan standpoint, it's great. It's high tech, it talks, and gives weather info. What's not to like?

From a twc fan standpoint, meh. It's not too visually appealing, talking is annoying, and. I dunon.

I would rather have a 4000 or an XL. I do not like the Intellistar at all. The constant narration is annoying.

The Intellistar that they use today is okay, but I love the older ones better.
The icons and the graphics that they use are just not fitting.

Im about to finish up my vacation in the Outer Banks. We have an XL here that was messing up quite a bit. Yesterday I set up a conference call between TWC Star Tech Support and the cable head. TWC is shipping out a new XL and it should arrive Monday. Until then were using an Intellistar located nearby. Ive got to say after seeing the XL for so long the IS provides a lot more useful information. I love the XLs graphics but the IS has more info that I can use. Anyway it will be nice to have the XL back in this region. I convinced the guy at the headend not to upgrade to the Intellistar since TWC is giving them a brand new XL. The XL has a good seven years or so and the area the star covers is so small its not worth it. Im told that they wont upgrade until they have to!  :dance:

Kinda off topic but I asked about the HD star and I was told they are putting a lot of time into it and a release should be "soon". I asked what he meant by "soon" but I didn't get a straight anwser.  :P

TWC still ships XL's? I didn't know that. Good to see they won't see an IntelliStar though. :D

I think TWC will replace defective legacy STARs, but I don't think they'll ship brand new ones. :unsure:

I loved the first version back in 2004, but I hate versions 2 and 3.

I perfered the WeatherSTARs 3000, 4000, Junior, and XL anyways.
