While I was looking at some old videos from a website called Dailymotion, I came across an old CNN station ID clip from 1987. If you notice the mountain background, it kind of looks like the one that was used in the LF intro that TWC used from 1991-95.

So I wonder, did TWC used recycled stock footage that was also used on CNN?

Bravo! I don't know how you could go looking for something like that, but when something sticks out like that, it sure sticks out! :clap:

It sure is the same footage. The topography is an exact match. TWC's background shot is somewhat later after CNN's video footage ends. You can see the upper deck of clouds arriving on CNN's footage, which are heading out of view on TWC's footage during their classic LF intro. There's also a bigger flat layer of lower clouds on TWC's side, while CNN's view shows the clouds forming and spreading out as they flatten. Nice find!

Can anyone identify this big rock?
