And the Atlantic finally gets in gear. We have TD 7.

If or when it becomes a tropical storm, it's name will be Gordon. Gordon has been on this list since 1994 after Gilbert was retired from this same list after the 1988 season.

Quite a bullish forecast from the NHC as far as wind speeds are concerned. Something must of changed with some of the global models since I was last on the computer over 6 hours ago. I completely agree with their track right now. The GFS (from the last run I saw) it had this tracking not too differently from Ernesto. (just a little more northerly)

Of all the memes that could fit in this topic, that, IMO, is probably the best one. :rofl2:

I think we need a like button on here. Or should I say, Me Gusta.  :rofl2: I agree with the thought though. I'm not that impressed either.

It reminds me of an old York Peppermint Patty commercial that saluted the Winter Olympics.

A couple are watching the ski jump on TV - the husband goes crazy as he describes the ski jump.

The wife turns to him and says "Lovely......you win the SILVER!"  and holds up the patty.

Well, I never thought we would be able to rename this thread, but we are. Say hello to Tropical Storm Helene!

Helene should be fun to track. (I say that seriously and sarcastically if it behaves anything like Ernesto did)

EDIT: I see NHC is going with the idea of a landfall in MX, but if it can manage to stay slow at strengthening for the next few days, that might not happen. It'll eventually feel the influence of a digging trough and get pulled N or even NE into the West/Central Gulf.
