You can watch Bryan Norcross's video discussing the potential of having Subtropical Storm Arlene over the next several days.

National Hurricane Center's Forecast Discussion
A LOW PRESSURE AREA LOCATED ABOUT 460 MILES NORTHEAST OF SAN JUAN
PUERTO RICO HAS DEVELOPED SOME SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
NEAR ITS CENTER. IN ADDITION...SATELLITE DATA AND SHIP REPORTS
INDICATE GALE-FORCE WINDS ARE OCCURRING NORTH OF THE CENTER. SLOW
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE DURING THE COUPLE OF DAYS AS
IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH. THERE IS A LOW
CHANCE...20 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM DEVELOPING INTO A SUBTROPICAL
OR TROPICAL CYCLONE BEFORE CONDITIONS BECOME LESS FAVORABLE IN
ABOUT 48 HOURS. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS LOW CAN BE FOUND IN
HIGH SEAS FORECASTS ISSUED BY THE NHC/TROPICAL ANALYSIS AND
FORECAST BRANCH...UNDER AWIPS HEADER NFDHSFAT2 AND WMO HEADER
FZNT02 KNHC. ANOTHER SPECIAL OUTLOOK WILL BE ISSUED ON THURSDAY...
OR SOONER IF NECESSARY.

The tropical season starting in April?! I certainly hope not... though it's not impossible.

I wouldn't get too excited over this. These systems pop up from time to time, really don't develop into anything. If anything, this storm is just something to be mildly interested in for a few minutes before looking at something else.

I won't make an official 2011 Hurricane Central thread just because of this little system unless it develops into something. Otherwise, this is just a curious little invest.

I wouldn't want anybody to this early, I just thought it was worth mentioning.

We all probably know TWC is hyping this thing, even if it doesn't become much of a sub-tropical system (if any one at all). :hmm:
But any "possible" development this early in the year is definetely interesting.

AT LEAST it's not going to beat out Tropical Storm Ana as the earliest storm in history.
That's right. My storm still holds that record. :D
I just have doubts of this little thing.
