While it has been awhile since I have installed the emulator on a fresh computer, I decided to try it on a fresh Win7 install.
The notes outlining pertain to ALL installations.
Since late December, I lost one of my hosts due to drive failure, and didn't remember that the emulator downloaded an overlay from that host, which should have been pointed to the CINE server instead. This file is usually requested when it doesn't exist in the 'main' sub-directory, such as a fresh install.
After successful installation, and manually replacing the two files from the June '09 update, take this attached file "satradoverlay.png" and place it into C:\wsxl\main\
Ofcourse, after that, set your ID, then run the emulator.
While Vista seems to be the most problematic OS to work around with security, Win7 was a breeze, with no "run as administrator" requirements.
Please leave your notes below saying if this helped.

That fixed the problem!! Thanks!!

If you can, please take a picture of the emulator when that message appears, trying to capture the message and
the loading text inside the emulator itself. Also, what is your ID?
Thanks

your configuration works great for me. if you would to set up a time we could use teamviewer, i could assist you in getting the emulator working.

Same thing here. Followed the newly posted Win7 setup procedure and it launched for the first time yesterday. It worked flawlessly yesterday and most of today. I fire up it now and I get the exact same error "Error: Access violation at 0x004025AC (tried to write to 0x004025AC), program terminated." This maybe the exact error that prevented me from ever being able to run it back in January I think until I was randomly browsing the forums the other day and saw the new instructions. Martin tossed me a new key the other night and I gave it shot and it launched. Between then and now nothing has changed hardware, software, or OS settings-wise. I was pretty glad to just see it in action for the first time although short lived. These things happen and it's no biggie, but from what I was able to see I just wanted to say very impressive emulator and keep at it. The latest videos you posted Brian showing off things to come are also quite impressive (font size revision and alert LDL ticker). Anyway I think I'll just wait out for the next version and try again then. Take care and best regards.

Works fine for me on Windows 7 32-bit.....

Hey TWCFreak. I've seen your youtube channel before, nice videos. I've tried on Win7 x86/x64 and Win7 x64 SP1 pre-beta, same error. Given recent forum posts in seems a new version will be out relatively soon so I can wait until to see if that corrects the error I am getting. Until then I might play around with some settings but I'd rather just wait then try troubleshooting this again.

You might want to redo your config and see if that helps

I placed the image into the stated folder, and the emulator is still having the file open error.
OS: Windows 7 x64bit
CINE ID: skywarnalsc
Please help! Maybe it is something I have done wrong?
-
Try again. There is no other reason it wont run.
-
Tried again and wouldn't run. Gonna re-install.
-
Wouldn't run even after re-install, June '09 update, file replacement, and everything... still getting the file read error.
-
Have you tried using setaffl.exe to set your affiliate?
-
No...
Edit
Yeah, I have. Still won't run.
-
it's a problem i also had before the problem is the 7's x64 capability with the emulator.
-
Well, I have done everything everyone has told me to do, but I can't figure it out. I tried running program compatibility but I need a new key for it, and Program Compatibility usually doesn't work. Right after I start it I get the message.

Hopefully there is a solution to your problem like there was to mine.

What was your solution?

My Emulator crashes after the whole forecast or parts of it. Can anyone help me? The emulator goes back to desktop. Teamviewer would be great.
