I am going to keep this short and sweet..
This is simply a required maintence release. The update is to ensure that everyone is on the same page with the emulator as with the current development. The January release (and its update) of the emulator expired March 20th. To continue using the emulator, follow these steps.
-Login to CINE: http://copper.yi.org:21863 (http://copper.yi.org:21863)
-Go to downloads and keys
-If you do not have the emulator installed on your computer (or now wish to use a new computer), install the main emulator release.
-Download the "March Update" archive, and extract it to: C:\wsxl
-Run the SetAffiliate program to set your ID. (This is required or else the emulator will crash on start!)
-Run the emulator itself. (Key dialog will appear to 'Get a Key')
Enjoy!
Side note:
The XL export function is infact built into this emulator release, however it is not enabled in this public build. If you would like to take advantage of the export function, contact me through PM.

Thanks for the update! What was tweaked/added/removed? Just curious!

I'm trying to run the new version, but I get a File Open Error at the upgrade screen. I already have entered my username on the affiliate ID page.
Username: MikeM2010

Close the program and/or try a system restart

Nevermind, I had to move my March 2009 files from the mar09 to wsxl folder. Didn't understand the directions.

Do I have a username and password for cine? It won't let me login.
What is CINE stand for anyway?

CINE doesnt exactly mean anything, although the best way to put an acronym-to-words is: Configuration Interface for Network Emulation. CINE is a custom interface, the vanilla appearance it provides is all that is honestly required (in a world of oversized graphics and elaborate animations). It was designed for you to manage the emulator, while still allowing me to still have a means to control the emulator in the event there was a reason to. this also allows me to keep all users of the emulator on the same version that the configuration site is providing a config file for. besides, im sure many people have had to reformat their computers in the past and dont like reconfiguring the emulator from scratch, so that helps out too. so far, i have not had a complaint on the web-based configuration interface.

I also want to download this, but don't know how to get a CINE account.
-
I tried going to Cine and the link is dead
-
Sorry, but is anyone working on my account?
-
I have neglected my duties here and for that I apologize. CINE is down for outside users at this time. I appear to have access to it oddly. I can make accounts though. Ill contact Brian to get it up for everyone ASAP. If you requested an account it would be great if you could PM me again with a username and password you want to use
thanks

 Hi, the emulator says "Your key has expired. Please obtain a new one", but where do I get another one? :dunno:

CINE is down at this time, so we'll just have to wait until Martin or Brian have enough free time to see what they can do to fix things.

Really because I can get on. Sometimes there is a trick to the site. I know this is wierd if you find that you cant connect to the CINE login page, sometimes if you go to the main site first (copper.yi.org) then go to CINE, it works!

Alright, what do I login with here?
Sorry, I'm new, and don't get this at all.

Let me explain what I know about it, i'm kinda new too. First you send a pm to Martin with a username & password you would like for your account on copper.yi.org:21863 (CINE for short) which you will need for the emulator . Then you go to the login page (copper.yi.org:21863), enter your username & password, then you should see a page to set up the weather configuration for your area, just follow the instructions. If you have any questions past that Martin has posted help topics in the Wxscan XL fourms. Hope that helped you out a little! :)

Thanks, I'll go ahead and try.
-
Sign ups are on hold while an update is made by Brian. Also why keys are invalid
-
Is this why no one is making me a cine account?
-
Can someone please make me a cine account
-
They can't make you an account until Brian fixes CINE.
-
thank-you
