That was one powerful cold front that swept through here, temp is holding steady at 64 degrees w/ occasional mist/light rain. It might be the same weather tomorrow which is cool with me. I'm ready for Fall to come.

65°F Partly Cloudy

The remnants of Lee gave me 3.68" of rain, and two confirmed tornadoes formed on Labor Day to my south.

I'm sorry for the double-post, but have you ever see such roller coaster temperatures in your life? This is the 5-day forecast for Norman, OK.

In OK, yes. I remember once this past winter right before they had a blizzard (I think it was in Jan. or Feb. this year) One day they were in the 60's and 70's then the next when the front came through they were in the teens and single digits. I would like to be there in the winter, they always seem to have wild swings like that going uphill or downhill.

When it's as dry as a desert, there's no moisture in the soil or in the atmosphere to help moderate the temperatures.  Thus, you'll see these wild extremes during frontal passages.

I'm about to make those suffering in the heat really jealous now. :P

Currently:  79°F and Mostly Sunny
High Today:  79°F
Low Today:  51°F

We have officially tied a record heat streak this summer, the temperature reached 90 degrees today, meaning this is the 90th day we have reached this temperature or above this summer. The last time this occurred was in the Summer of 1980. I don't believe we'll break that record, but at least we tied it. If there's anything good about this relentless heat this year at least it's that we got to go for a record.

Wow, International Falls, MN recorded a low of 20 degrees this morning! Old Man Winter is certainly not wasting anytime making his appearance be known.

I give this 5  :brr: :brr: :brr: :brr: :brr: out of 5

Scratch that, they actually bottomed out into the teens! First time on record for September!

Quote
1st Recorded Temperature in the Teens for the Month of September at International Falls
The low temperature at 7:06 am this morning at International Falls was 19 degrees. This breaks the record low  for a September 15th, 24 degrees, set in 1964. This is the coldest temperature reported for so early in the season. This also marks the first time in station history that a temperature in the teens has been recorded in the month of September.

Wow. It's so unusual to see a cold air mass affect temperatures this much for this time of year. But keep in mind, 19 for International Falls is nothing. You can really start being amazed when they start hitting -30s and -20s for lows for days or even a week at a time.
