92.0° O_o What the? My weather station is going wacko.
Thats what happens when the sun attacks your sensor on humid morning, lol.. happens all the time on mine and Ive dealt with that on my atomic clock's sensor for 7 years now
I figured it. I placed my sensor somewhere I thought would never get sunlight. It turns out it does in the morning, so some of my data is incorrect now. I'm thinking about getting a new station with a PC data logger.
I would just look around for a special sun shade for weather stations.. even the slightly more expensive ones (< $150) that can uplink to Wunderground can experience problems like that

That's what occasionally happens to mine when the sun rises well into the north. On summer mornings, there will be a jump in temperature. ~5-6 degrees, and then go back down slightly after the sun's rays are off it.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

I can see 5-6 but is nearly 20 degree jump normal?

Well, I had a weather sensor in the sun once (it was a nicer one by LaCrosse), and IIRC, the temperature would read as 90°F when the actual conditions outside were around 70°F.

That's obviously not happening right now . . .

Current Conditions
Cloudy 72°F

Now you all understand how critical it is to site your thermometers in well-ventilated areas and be shielded from the sun at all times.  I've even seen worse errors with poorly-placed thermometers.

Not really. Depending of what materials the thermometer is made of, they all will absorb heat differently. My LaCrosse thermometer would only go up by 5-6 degrees at most when it's about 80°F at 6:30AM in the summer.

74° w/ A lightning Show. A thunderstorm cell is moving across lake Moultrie. Don't think it will make it here in one piece as instability has declined with sunset.

70, Partly Cloudy. UGH, it feels like a June night already. It's humid and sticky outside.

73, Clear

Atlanta broke another record today for the most consecutive number of days above 80 degrees in the
month of March of 6 and this streak will continue until at least this weekend.
