Early Fall and August Outlook
« on: July 23, 2012, 06:13:08 PM »
Here's the Outlook

Quote
The August forecast map shows that temperatures will be the farthest above average right in the middle of the country from northern Oklahoma and much of Kansas to southern Minnesota and eastern South Dakota.

A larger area of above-average warmth is expected to surround this zone extending eastward into the Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. Much of the interior West is also forecast to see temperatures above August averages.

The far eastern and western states will act as bookends to the central warmth with temperatures expected to be a bit cooler-than-average in these areas.

Yes! I've been sick of this hot weather!
Thanks NBC Comcast for driving me away from TWC. You've officially made TWC junk, NBC Comcast.

They should have also included areas where temperatures will be near normal like what the CPC does. I doubt that all the areas shaded in blue will be below average and some might be near average.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

I'm going to miss this year's warm winter. November 2011 was as if winter never came (well it didn't but you know what i mean. It was very springlike). I have never seen so many people on the AC Boardwalk on a November before..it was 71 degrees and sunny on Thanksgiving. Usually it's in the 40's by then.

TWC should've made a darker shade of blue (40 degree color) for below average.

August is actually starting out exactly the way that map says for me, it's been around average to slightly below. It's also been wetter so far. I like that, it's a nice change from July. No 100s look to be on the horizon the next week or two so that's another bonus!
