Title: 3D Storm Software used during severe weather.
Post by: 4000 weatherman on April 19, 2011, 06:47:35 PM: I have been using this program for a while and I noticed them using it on a severe weather update.
Anyway, its called GR2Anaylst.

It has a 21 day trial and takes a little effort to set up but it is really amazing!

Post by: Trevor on April 19, 2011, 06:58:45 PM: I have had GR2AE, GRLevel2, GRLevel3, and GREarth for a while now. You can only get GREarth if you have previously purchased another GR product.

Here's a screen capture of GREarth from a while back (radar is turned off).

No problem. :thumbsup: Lots of people and businesses use this product, and I'll have to learn it myself over the coming months.

Really? That is interesting to know a forecast office would use it

When I was at NWS as an intern, we used it for severe weather forecasting all the time. Typically, the software would find rotation before the forecasters would....so GR2Analyst is a lifesaver (literally).

I don't want to pony up the $250 to install it, and don't feel like running 10 million virtual machines, so I'm holding off - for now. Once I get a job that pays a bit more than $7.25 an hour, I might think a little more about it.

Post by: Lightning on April 25, 2011, 06:25:12 PM: I know the software TWC uses is the Gibson Ridge software. A man by the name of Mike Gibson produces it and his business is in Suwanee, Georgia, one of the NE Atlanta suburbs. The graphics on that one are cool.

So you can't get GR Earth? This is one of the least organized sale of software i've seen. I can't even figure out how to apply to get it.
