I'm surprised no one has brought this up, but today is the 20th anniversary of the Halloween Blizzard that brought major snows to the upper mid-west. The storm was thanks in large part to an arctic cold front that passed through the area a few days prior, as well as the "Perfect Storm" spinning off the east coast (preventing any storms from moving east). To commemorate the event, I created a page about it on my site. Complete with video clips of TWC covering the storm from start to finish.

Wow, sounds like an amazing storm to say the least. I wasn't aware there was a blizzard in the Midwest at the same time as the "Perfect Storm". I noticed not too long ago this storm is also mentioned on the "On This Date" section next to the interactive radar when you check a local forecast.

It looks like the media had to put a name with this storm, too, and called it the "Great Halloween Megastorm." :P
