Post by: The Weather Guy on August 24, 2010, 06:02:52 PM
Starting the file scan:

Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\wsxl.exe'
C:\wsxl\wsxl.exe
    [DETECTION] Is the TR/Crypt.ASPM.Gen Trojan
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\ycc.wav'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\current'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\extended'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\forecast'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\icons'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\local'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\main'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\maps'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\marine'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\music'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\NAration [olf]'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\themes'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\weatherjr'
C:\wsxl\weatherjr\wsxl.exe
    [DETECTION] Is the TR/Crypt.ASPM.Gen Trojan
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\fcya.wav'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\setaffil.exe'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\settings.ini'
Begin scan in 'C:\wsxl\upgrade.exe'

Is the emulator relay a threat? Or is it a False Positive?

Its been mentioned before.... parts of the program that involves security and key generation may be flagged by various virus software as a trojan or other malicious content. TWC Today will never support software that contains malicious content.

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but when the executable is packed for security, an anti-virus program MAY flag the executable BECAUSE people who do create malicious viruses MAY compress their virus the same way I compress the executable for copy protection. The reasoning behind that is if someone malicious compresses their known malicious code, the antivirus program may not flag the executable as a virus. I assume your anti-virus program is keeping you aware of something behind-the-scenes that may be malicious, however with Weatherscan XL you should not have to worry about anything. All operations that Weatherscan perform is all contained within its directory.
Enjoy!
