WOW!! WHAT A HORRIBLE WEEK.
If you even noticed I hadn't been around the past few days, it's because I've been without power since 5 AM Monday, and it's been hell. I woke up around 5 monday, because there was the threat for early morning storms. I woke up, and no sooner did I wake up, like 5 minutes later, if that, the power went out.
I looked out side, the sky was green and the rain was blinding, and the wind, Oh my gosh I've never seen anything like it before!! I hear sirens, and start getting pretty excited, and I look out the window, and can't see a thing, so I have no clue whats going on. All the sudden I hear a big snap, and a couple booms. Around 6:30 it all calms down.
I look outside, there are like 3 huge branches in my yard, a tree down in the middle of the streen, and a huge tree in my neighbors yard. It looked like a tornado tore threw. I saw a stick STICKING UP from the ground. I never seen a thing like it before.
Turns out it was a derecho, and the wind at the airport (which is like 5 minutes driving distance from my house) was 94 miles per hour! It was crazy. My area got hit the hardest. A major road was shut down. I took a few pics, and I'll post them when I get a chance. But wow, it was the most interesting weather event I had been threw in my life!!
I work in a different city, and we have had record days this whole week, because no body has had electricity til today. ITS CRAZY!!
But, my family, and neighbors made it out okay. I definitely have A LOT more appreciation for electricity :D

Glad to hear that you're okay, Kyle. A green sky? Neat! But that is normally a sign of a tornado. I saw a stick stinking up from the ground in my back yard. It happened this past spring in a storm.

Yup, it is. But, official report from NWS says no sign of tornado, not even on the radar. But I seriously thought there was one once I looked outside.

Glad to hear your back with us. :) That must've been scary. I was in the August 23rd storms,and,it was crazy! I know how you must've been.

Interesting pics! I remember back in 1999 an unconfirmed tornado went through here in Bensalem and a tree down the street was uprooted.

Okay I sent them in today. More than likely they will appear on Abrams and Bettes, because I chose the "Abrams and Bettes: Weather Warriors" thing.
