Must've been a slow news day.

Sorry, I just can't stand Andrew. I've never met such a jackass in all my life.

What the hell. How can this crap be news.  :censored:

"Now the future meteorologists hope to get cable companies to subscribe to the service. Poecker would like to talk to local cable broadcaster Wave Broadband to start the process of migrating to TV."

I really hope TWC goes ahead and sues their ass just for the heck of it. The design, the name, everything...

"Andrew Poecker is a weekend meteorologist"
No he is a kid who reads a NWS forecast.

"A 12-year-old environmental specialist from Michigan"
That sentence is wrong in so many ways. Whoever this writer is must be a retard. This is horrible writing.

What the  :censored: indeed.

I bet the 12-year-old is struggling in his pre-algebra class rather than being a full-fledged environmental specialist. If he comes on my 11:00 news, I'd be switching to another channel.

I don't know how ANYONE could create their own forecasts, without a lot of high-tech equipment.

Gee.. Thanks guys, I really feel welcomed here now

We work our butts off to get weather information out to you guys, creating weather maps, and yes, we do get most of our forecasts from the National Weather Service, however, we do have some expertise in some subjects.

It would be an absolutely stupid thing for TWC to sue us, because 1) it's a waste of their time, and 2) We are not violating any copyright/patent laws, and 3) If they sue us, they have to sue WeatherUnderground and every other weather website out there, which is illegal because then you have a monopoly. We are simply a weather site on the internet, nowhere close to TV yet.

If you guys hate SilverStar 8 so much, just stop watching us.

1.So your saying your project is so insignificant and small that nobody should care about it.

2. Oh come on you have got to be kidding me!! SilverSTAR (hmmm weatherSTAR) 8 (hmm local on the 8s) Even your name is uncreative.  Im sure If I looked up the patents on the weatherstars I would find your breaking quite a few. You may not know it but the basic design/setup of your local forecast likely breaks several TWC copyrights. You even call it an LDL.

And no you do not make your own forecasts. TWC for example has servers that take in the NWS forecast and tweaks its a bit. You just look at the NWS forecast and guess. Its very sad that you call yourself meteorologists.

3. What? Do you read what you type? Weatherunderground and other websites aren't trying to copy TWC programming and local forecasts to SELL and make a profit on. Im sure that have all the copyrights on their material anyway.

Anyway dont worry.  I think its safe that 99% of the people dont watch your SS8. (haha good job on that abreviation! 8 )

Prehaps I am a little harsh on you all but you walk around with your noses stuck in the air. You are eat up with yourself! I mean take a look at your wallpaper link. Its just a bunch of pictures of voice crackly teenagers. They are just bad and show the obsession you have with yourself.

Although they would be reffering to me, I will say this... I completely disagree with what they **cough** Andrew **cough**  :club: put in this paper article. I am not a "enviormental specialist", since I never even studied this subject. I am just going online to help people out with saving money and all of that. But I really do disagree with that statement in the newspaper 100 percent...

Alright, time for my two sense (whether you like it or not).

Robo, how dare you. How dare you bitch about not feeling welcome. We don't even know you! You've never posted here once. As far as I'm concerned, your just another name on the member list at this point. Spend some time here too once in awhile  not just at TWCC, and post here once in awhile, and maybe you'll become a respected member. But to come out of the shadows and jump on us like that..how dare you.

Your lucky Stephen intervened, because I wouldn't have locked this thread. I can't stand that project, or Andrew. In fact, I can't stand the project BECAUSE of Andrew. You guys need to get your heads out of your asses and toss that creep to the curb.

I've unlocked this thread. I feel it was within the guidelines. No where did I create a rule saying we can't have a negative opinion of something. Everyone seems to have expressed their feelings in a civil manner, so I feel as though to lock this thread would be to censor those opinions.

However, this thread MUST stay civil. If trouble starts, I will lock it.

EDIT: I realize this is probably not a popular decision with some, but that's just the way it'll have to be. I've been known to make unpopular decisions from time to time.  :D

I am also a beta tester at SilverStar 8. I disagree with most of the points stated in that article. I can also see how The Weather Channel would have an issue with it, one example is their WeatherSTAR Technology, It was licensed to The Weather Network and Pelmorex for their Local Forecast Device (Whatever its called), so the idea is clearly patented and would be illegal to copy without a license to do so.
