Ok so I was flicking through channels and I see this episode of total drama island and there is this challange where they have to waterski in mud and this girl who is driving the boat and she trys to cut the rope and her shirt snags and they SHOW her BOOBS that are blurred!!! So then since that's off the deep end I want to see what else they did with their "new" era of cartoons and of course at the end the guy that gets elimanted is the one on the skis and he says "I got to see boobies!!!!!" And then they are wondering who showed him their "chest" and then accuse someone and then that person would never show her "boobs" to him... Wonder what parents think :hmm:
-
Cartoon network has gotten really bad. I pretty much stopped watching it completely when they discontinued the 'city' theme a couple years back.
-
I pretty much stopped watching when they adopted the CN cube logo...
-
They probably just don't give a crap. If it's getting ratings (positively or negatively) and noone tries to file a lawsuit against them, they figure it'll be alright.
-
I bet the ONLY thing keeping CN going at this point is that craptastic "Clone Wars" series and Adult Swim.
-
I also think CN is going downhill. They've BEEN going downhill since June 2004 when they revamped themselves.
I think "Total Drama Island" should've moved to Adult Swim.
-
Keep in mind, that in the eyes of Neilsen and everyone else, [adult swim] and Cartoon Network are technically two separate networks. If Cartoon Network were to go, I bet [as] will remain.

I agree with you.

Well they will lose views for that little "boob" act because they srsly need to think about the fact that little children actually watch this crap and I'm sure parents won't want their little children saying "boobs" or something they shouldn't be saying that they got from a KIDS channel

AS should have it's own channel just like Boomerang. (which used to come on CN prior to 2000 when the channel launched) They keep expanding their schedule year after year anyway.
-
I think some of the sense of humor that is now starting to show in new cartoons is really not that funny, and in some cases offensive.

That's exactly my point. I mean they are not gaining views trying to loosen their limits. If my aunt saw that she would never let my cousins watch cartoon crapwork with that cute acts and best of all, more partially nude acts to come for little children to see!!!
-
I also abandoned this cable network after they adopted the CN cube as well.
That show is wrong. They also shown dicks, boobs, and butts (all blurred becides the butt) I wish that they would get sued.
I would watch Boomerang (The old shows that used to be on Cartoon Network prior to 2000), but Comcast here wont support it :furious:

Sorry for a double post, but I dont think that they would move that show. They think that the FCC wont do anything (And probaly wont :club:) since they blur it. They also put the PG rting in a green screen before the show even starts. They wont move that to the other network 9And they cann't since Adult Swim is a different network).

Well PG my ass, mild flirtatios language? A little more than mild. JUST mild language?? WRONG!!! You kinda forgot partial nudity!!!! People need to show every parent these nude, less mild language they are starting to develop in these "shows"

CN has gone way downhill, due to what they put in there programming. If they used programmign prior to 2000, I'd bet you that here hit count would be way higher then it is today.

Have they really shown that kind of stuff on there? How they're getting away with showing that is puzzling.

Cartoons have been declining so much in the 2000's that I would be scared as a parent with what's to come. This news about Cartoon Network just doesn't surprise me. The cartoons that aired between the 1970's and the 1990's were so much better than today's lineups and so less controversial.
-
So, let me see if I understand this correctly. You all are griping about a somewhat explicit cartoon that airs in Adult Swim, correct? Did you ever consider WHY its called Adult Swim? Because the cartoons featured are not for children. If you don't like the cartoon, simply don't watch it, or any of the Adult Swim cartoons.
-
I haven't watched Cartoon Network in ages. The last time I watched CN was in 2008 for an episode of the 90s cartoon Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Nooooooooo... I mean on CARTOON NETWORK, the thing that's on BEFORE adult swim, that channel with shows designed for kids?? That channel is what were "griping" about for having inapproiate material and little kids watch those new shows

Watch the attitude.
My opinion remains unchanged. If you don't like what's on, don't watch it. :whistling:

I've never watched Cartoon Network a day in my life, except rarely I'll catch something on Adult Swim.
I've just never liked cartoons.

If this was coming on Adult Swim, it wouldn't matter since it's coming on with other shows for mature audiences, but it's actually coming on CN, which isn't as easy to shrug off since there young children looking at it.

Which is my point, I hope someone can slap some sense into someone who approves this absurd crap. Having inapproiate words on kids cartoons is like teaching little kids to say whatever they want.
-
I haven't watched Cartoon Network regularly since 2005. There's practically nothing good on there anymore.
-
What time does this cartoon come on?
-
I checked my tv guide and it's on now.
EDIT: I meant to say that it's on in 30 minutes.
-
The only shows that I remember watching on Cartoon Network were Scooby Doo, Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, a Pup named Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry. That's pretty much all I can remember. I was a Nickelodeon kid.

Yep, those were great cartoons! It's pretty much the same for Nick too, but at least they devoted Nicktoons Network to the old cartoons.

Me too. Gimme Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and Rocko.

I was more of a Cartoon Network person. Never watched Nickelodeon that much (though I do watch some shows on Nick at Nite sometimes).

Agreed. Those were great shows :) Luckely, Comcast supports the Nicktoons Network, so I can watch all of the older shows that I love.
-
Cartoon Network did bring back The Looney Toons Show as part of a New Year's Day 2009 Marathon. That's about it.
Although there are a few shows on Adult Swim I couln't pass up (Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Space Ghost Coast To Coast, Harvey Birdman: Attornmey At Law) there are other shows I want to avoid.
-
That show (total drama island) is usually on at 2 pm (during when cartoon crapwork is usually on)

Yeah, only if you have the expanded digital package, which I refuse to pay for. <_<

I do have that. They just will refuse to carry Bomerang period :chair: :finger:
