I though this might be an interesting thread. Just post the last thing that you bought, whether it be food, or a new shirt, or a movie, or whatever. Just keep music purchases in their own thread (https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php/topic,706.0.html).
There is a similar thread at another forum that I visit, and it has been quite successful there, so I thought that I'd try it here.
I last bought a 12 foot coaxial cable and a coaxial splitter at Ollie's for $3.08. B)

I like this. Do we have to include a price, or what? Is there a standard protocol?
Last thing I bought was a DC Board and an AC Adapter for my iBook G4. I think it ended up being over $40 or something, not sure.

You can post the price if you want to, but it's not a requirement.

Absolutely not. I'm just saying a majority of People who use Game Boys are younger. Everyone of all ages can play games. I'm talking about a specific console/device.
-
That is simply not true Vic. Gameboys are played by people of all ages because of its portability. You can play it anywhere at anytime. Adults like that just as much as kids do.
-
Adults are funny people. I want to be one.

People pay $105 for THAT?

10.0 is indeed pretty buggy. People considered that version as a "beta version" even though it really wasn't. I wouldn't pay $105 for an old OS filled with bugs.

Yes Gil, that's what it sells for on Amazon.
Thank god you two aren't the only people on the earth.

Blow money? It's worth every single penny. Skate shoes are VERY different from regular shoes. My last skate shoes lasted well over 2 years.

It's mor economic to buy $70 worth of GOOD shoes that last for years, than to spend $30 every few months on regular shoes. (Do they even make $30 shoes?) Believe me, I've had a lot of bad shoe experiences. :( :itsok:

You don't have to spend $70 to get shoes that last a good long time. I've paid more than $20 for shoes only a few times in my life, and in all honesty I didn't see any difference between those shoes and the cheaper ones. And for kids, there's no economy about it. Kids outgrow shoes so fast that in a matter of months they'll need the next size. And that goes for kids of any age.

My dad recently got a Wii for his house and guitar hero for it.
I have no game systems here (they are all at my other house), so I'm always bored here during the week. I plan to get a 360 pretty soon to fix that though. Would I be able to use my old Xbox games on the 360?

OS 9 is called "Classic" mode, it runs os 8.6. It's almost 10 years old, yea, I'd call it classic. Definitely a 128k or a SE/30 would be true classic but no matter what they are all "Obsolete" based on Apple's standards.
-
I suppose in that sense it could be called classic. Usually when I hear the term "Classic Mac" thrown around, it refers to the machines using Old World ROM's.
-
A replacement power adapter for my laptop and a wireless mouse.

My little niece and I went to the store today and this is the stuff we got.
-Cake Mix
-Frosting
-Eggs
-Skittles (for her)
- Lip gloss (for her; I don't know how she suckered me into that one. :P)
-White Cheddar Popcorn (for me)
- Popcorn Cheese Puffs (for her)

Totaling up to $21.05 sucked from my wallet. Everytime someone's birthday comes up she always wants to get cake and icecream. I guess in her eyes noone's birthday can be complete without it. :P

Cool! You'll have to let us know how it performs!

I have to say it preforms really great just as I expected it to. What I've notice is that the GPU "sets" the range of FPS for a game because when I go to very low graphics settings, the game would get around 30-50 fps, but then when I max out the graphics settings, it would still get around 30-50 fps. One thing that's really not good, this GPU runs extremely hot. It has just as much ventilation as my old card, but this card runs some 30-40°F hotter. When I'm playing GTA IV maxed out, it averages out between 175°F - 185°F. My old GPU would reach 160°F at most ever.
But this card is just outstanding; just look at these benchmark results from GTA IV maxed out!
Statistics
Average FPS: 42.56
Duration: 36.89 sec
CPU Usage: 74%
System memory usage: 61%
Video memory usage: 55%
Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1920 x 1080 (60 Hz)
Texture Quality: High
Shadow Quality: Very High
Reflection Resolution: Very High
Water Quality: Very High
Texture Filter Quality: Anisotropic x16
Night Shadows: Very High
View Distance: 100
Detail Distance: 100

A Google Nexus 7. Total came out to be about $230. Decided on this lower-end tablet because I need a device for internet browsing and email reading and a little radar watching when I don't want to be at my desk. It runs on Android 4.1 'Jelly Bean' and I plan to use my $25 Google Play credit to buy Radar Scope. What made me want it was the price and the new operating system and it's design (for cost) and needed a laptop replacement.

A Cherry Dr Pepper. You know, it was promoted as being "smooth," and that made me think of the smooth jazz that once aired on the LFs.
-
I forgot to mention this, but two weeks ago, the last thing I bought were:
- $30 iTunes gift card (to collect more of the "golden age" TWC music for my 4000/WeatherScan XL emulators)

- A official DVD copy of Pokémon The Movie: Destiny Deoxys (I remember seeing this on Kids WB back when it first aired in 2005) - $6.99

Nexus 7 (2013) 16 GB, 64 GB SanDisk USB flash drive, 100pk DVD+R, 100pk CD-R, coax amplifier, stocked up on toothpaste and deodorant. Was able to get 25% off at work today.
-
The last thing I bought was the new Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD. It doesn't quite feel like Christmas to me without hearing some of their music.
64 GB SanDisk USB flash drive
I've been meaning to get me one of those. They're really versatile, whether used for backups or file transfers. I notice the flash drives are becoming more reasonable as time goes on. There was a time that a 4 GB flash drive cost as much as a 64 GB one would now.
-
A bunch of 360 games (mostly COD) totaling $35.
-
Within the past month...
2 $20 Nintendo eshop Prepaid Cards
Some old school Mario games
-Super Mario Kart (1992); downloaded it from the Nintendo eShop for $7.99 - Never played the original which is weird because my sister used to have a SNES.
-Super Mario World (1991); downloaded it from the Nintendo eShop for $7.99 - Never played this version which is the original NES version. I have played (and still own today) the GBA version. Brings back childhood memories. :D

From Walmart
The Simpsons: The Complete Second Season DVD Box Set - $13.97
The Simpsons: The Complete Tenth Season DVD Box Set - $19.06
It's taken 11 years, but my Simpsons DVD collection set is COMPLETE! :D I started collecting back in 2003 when I was about 10, turning 11.
Season 2 was the only season I was missing in the first 9 seasons. Could have completed this years ago had I not of been so lazy about picking up that season. I was gonna extend my collection further up to Season 15, but I don't know about that. The episodes are hit and miss from seasons 11-15.
-
I guess the last things I bought were a 20-ounce Mtn. Dew Game Fuel Citrus Cherry and some Halloween decorations.
-
For $2.80, I bought a McChicken and small fries for dinner last night at McDonald's. I also unexpectedly got a free chocolate milkshake, which was actually a screwed-up order for someone who ordered after I did (whipped cream added by mistake) so the server guy asked me if I wanted the first shake and I said sure. I guess you can say that was a bonus! :P
-
Technically, I didn't buy this. It's actually a (soon to be) birthday gift for me from someone else.

I picked out this TV mainly because...
-It has 3 HDMI ports which comes in handy since I'll need one for my cable set up box, another for my Wii U, and a third possibly for a PS4 (still haven't decided if it's worth getting one or not yet) Although reading some of the reviews, some customers have said it has 4 HDMI ports. Either way 3 or 4 is good.
-I overlooked this at first, but this HDTV goes up to 1080p 60fps! Playing Mario Kart 8 (which runs at 60fps on single player mode) on this TV is going to be glorious compared to the 720p 30 fps HDTV I have right now! :D
-SWIVEL BASE. Enough said.
-Hey, it's energy efficient, nothing wrong with that.
*Walmart.com also had a 1 day sale going on for another Sceptre 40" HDTV for $199! (incredible deal and crazy to pass up on imo) That's the one I was going to get, but of course it was already out of stock. Go figure.
-
TV Safety Straps...
Yeah, turns out I need these to lower the risk of my new HDTV toppling over. Something I would have never known had it not of been for the owner's manual mentioning it because it certainly wasn't mentioned online in the product description. <_<
Other than that, this HDTV is fantastic! I LOVE it!

I ended up changing my mind about getting Season 10 back then, but I did order it this time around (from Amazon) and should be here this week.
Also got Super Mario Galaxy, never played it before, but I remember all the hype about how great it was years ago so I thought my niece and I would give it a try.

I just bought the complete series of "Rocko's Modern Life" on DVD.
I just wish it was uncensored, although it still amazes me how much the Nickelodeon censors actually DID allow.
REMEMBER, this was technically a show for KIDS. (http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/02/17/these-9-naughty-easter-eggs-prove-that-rocko-s-modern-life-was-not-only-for-kids-2700255)

I had no intention of ever buying this, but since this controller is compatible to play virtual SNES/Nintendo 64 games on the Wii U, I got it for that reason only from Amazon.com.

Unlocked Motorola Moto G 2013, to accompany my iPhone. I decided I wanted to try out Android, and the Moto G was the closest choice to stock Android without having to pay over $100 dollars.

Toshiba Canvio Desk 2TB External Hard Drive for my Wii U
Man, I don't think I've ever done so much research on electronics when it came to external hard drives in my life! I had a really hard time choosing one I felt would be right for me, but this one seemed to be the one mentioned a lot and Nintendo did test/recommend it so...yeah. I'm gonna be downloading a lot of games from here on out, 2TB will be more than enough storage space, actually it's probably ridiculously too much.
EDIT: Something that grinds my gears, I wonder why the portable ones are just as expensive as the desktop ones, but in some cases have less storage space. What a big rip-off. Also I would have thought 1 and 2TB hard drives would be a lot cheaper than what they are right now considering you can get some up to 3-4TB for only $20 more on average.
-
Bought/downloaded the song, "First View" by Steve Oliver (May 2003 Playlist) from Amazon Music.
-
Dr. Pepper from the vending machine at Wal-Mart.

That's a good song there. In fact, it's one of my top five favorite TWC songs. May 2003 was a great time to be a TWC fan.

I bought a Mr. Pibb out of a drink machine and a Milky Way Bar from a snack machine today. The former was $1.25 and the latter was $0.85. I hope that counts as something you bought, cuz technically, it is. Doesn't make any difference if you buy from a machine or a $20,000 car.
-
A 16 GB USB flash drive at Walmart. I'm always needing more space, and they're selling them rather cheaply right now with back to school firmly in place.

Good taste there! I always go for the Pibb when I can find it, although it's kind of scarce where I'm at.
-
Same! We don't have Mr. Pibb in vending machines or stores anywhere in the Memphis area. You're lucky if you get it in a fountain at a restaurant. My friends laugh at me when I go out of town to a place that sells Pibb in stores and I stock up on it lol. I like Dr. Pepper and will drink it if Pibb isn't available, but Pibb is way better!
Trying to keep it on topic, just bought a Venti Vanilla Latte from Starbucks.

I've had my second Dell desktop computer since January 2011, it's going on nearly 7 years. Since my birthday is coming up next week on Black Friday I decided it was definitely time to invest in a new desktop.
I got this one, it wasn't my first choice or my second. In fact, I considered Microsoft Surface Studio or even joining the dark side and getting a Mac! lol j/k In the end the one I picked felt like the right one for me. :)

Pre-Ordered from Amazon since I get 20% off with a Prime membership ($47.99 instead of $60). I would have bought it from Best Buy, but they apparently ended their Gamers Club Unlocked program which sucks, I really loved that membership program for buying video games.
