I listened to all these songs at school today on my ipod:
They let you use iPods at school? Not like that here. They can only be used before or after school hours, though I heard rumors that they may allow them next year during study periods.
-
At my district's high school, they let you listen to iPods whenever you want, as well as wear hats, chew gum, etc.
-
We're only allowed to listen to ipods on the school bus. Not in lunch or study halls. We can chew gum though and eat during class.
-

Really? Wow, I wish I was at that school! :o
A lot of the rules at my school are pointless, IMO.

That certainly is a terrible way to do things.

How do you figure? The way I see it is that it builds responsibility. Sounds rediculous, but here's how: If the kids can do all of these things, it is a tremendous distraction. But most of the students don't care, so when they flunk, and end up doing nothing with their lives, it's really their fault. Hence, it's to their best interest to use them responsibly.
I hate people. :)

Allowing the kids to do as they please doesn't foster responsibility.

Well it's their problem.

Hehe. Right. Gil knows all.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with this thread, so let's get it back on topic.

Eric Clapton is great. I'm not familiar with many of his older songs though. Layla is the only one I think. He had several good songs in the 90's that I really liked (Change The World, My Father's Eyes, and Blue Eyes Blue, IIRC).

Here is a five-song playlist I made that sends you on a journey of what I consider real music when played in the order shown. These songs have never aired on the local forecast even though I feel certain cuts of them would be enjoyed far better than what has played for the past year. Please let me know what you think as I really would like to believe I am not alone when it comes to appreciating music that involves multiple genres, varieties of sound, and songs that truly stand out among the crowd of noise in the mainstream. Thanks!

G. Love's "Love" from The Hustle CD. Interesting note, this is a vocal song and not an instrumental like what TWC played on the LOT8s all those years ago. In addition, the instrumental version of the song doesn't appear to exist anywhere, either digitally or physically on CD, unless TWC was able to get the vocal track manually removed somehow. :dunno:
