For those who have DirecTV, if you don't mind entertaining an ignorant question, What is the difference between say, Cartoon Network (East) and Cartoon Network (West) for example. Is it related to time zones where the east is for Eastern time and the West is for Western time?

Yes.  This is the case with U-Verse too.  In most cases, you'll notice that the West channel plays exactly the same shows, commercials, etc. as the East channel but is four hours behind.  So essentially, it's on a four-hour delay for West Coast viewers.  Makes it nice when you miss a show on the East channel but can catch it again on the West channel. :P

It is three. Same goes for all west coast feeds.

Excuse me, I guess it is three. Whatever the case, the West feed is meant for West Coast viewers. I think that was the point that was trying to be made.

Here is a short video clip I recorded this evening, and the song that plays in it sounded pretty catchy to me.

Christmas light display synced to music

I couldn't figure out what the song name was or who sings it. Even a simple Google search was less than helpful. Does anyone here know what this song is?  :dunno:

EDIT: I found another Christmas light/music sync video with the same song on YouTube. The song is called "Where Is Santa Claus" and the artist is Judy Pancoast. Still a catchy Christmas song though.

Jim, see the link I have provided below to confirm your song title and artist.  Your song is track #16 in the album.  I have never heard of this artist or that particular song, because the album was released in 2012 when I was not looking for Christmas music at that time.

Thanks Patrick!  :)  When I heard this song, I thought it sounded like Karen Carpenter at first, but after a quick YouTube search of similar Xmas light music sync displays, I found out that the song was by Judy Pancoast. While I was looking at that link, under the 'Recommended if You Like' tab, the recommended artists were, coincidentally, Karen Carpenter and of course, The Carpenters.

Besides the Pancoast song, the FM radio station to which the light display was synced to also played songs by artists like TSO, Burl Ives, to name a few. I read about this through social media and decided to go check it out for myself. It was a pretty interesting light display to see, I thought.

The end of 2014 is fast approaching. Has anyone done anything special this year? Looking forward to 2015?

You know, I wouldn't mind experiencing something like that once.  Just once.  Then I would probably say "never again."  It would be one thing being stranded at home under two or three feet of snow but a whole other being without power for several days (or even weeks).
