Billy, I've been thinking of doing a complete reformat of my HP Laptop Drive.  Since I got it in June, I just left it as is (with all the HP crap and everything), and it isn't the fastest (by far).

I recall you doing that when you first got your laptop.  Did it even come with a Vista disc?  I recall it purposefully not coming with a reinstall disc, unless I'm mistaken.

It came with a recovery disc. But I didn't use that to reformat, I used the OEM copy of Vista that I originally bought for my desktop machine.

You should have a recovery partition on your hard drive, and when you boot up, IIRC, there be an option to recover from that partition.

The recovery software on that partition formats and restores the machine back to the original manufacturing state, so all the programs that were installed by the manufacturer would still remain. You'd have to have an OEM copy of Vista and install that to have a Vista without the manufacturer's software.

Soooo, you're saying I can't reinstall Vista...I can only restore it to the original state HP sold it to me as?! I don't have an OEM of Vista

When I bought my Dell with XP preloaded four years ago, it came with a seperate XP disc...

Huh! Really! At one point you might and the other, I don't know. For my area since I live in California, we don't get snow at all except in the Sierra Nevada Area and temps only stay in the 50's in the wintertime

I may get my first snow this season tomorrow..as my county is on the very edge of a snow advisory (one slight shift could make a change though)

How would you record videos on a tuner? Do you plug it into a TV using connections?

As I said before, when you get your tuner, everything will make sense.
