Why would any mid atlantic school not build in snow days? News flash, it snows here!

I think it had to do with budget cuts or something. Not entirely sure why though. Or maybe just tighter NJ education standards. <_<

Tighter standards are never bad, but there's no reason a district can't make MLK day or President's day a snow make up day. Penn Hills regularly builds in 6 to 8 days (depending on the school year, they can include MLK Day, President's Day, Professional days, days from Spring break, and Kennywood day). They often use close to all of them.

I don't even think my high school in rural WV built in that many make-up days for snow days during a school year.  One year, I remember having 18 snow days thanks to the winter of 1992-1993.  You'd think more make-up days would be incorporated into the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic school systems as you said, but money and budgeting does seem to be one reason why it's not done.

Back in 2006 or so (right around or before the time I began high school), Haslett added 1 minute onto each hour, so the school day goes from 7:50 to 2:23, instead of 7:50 to 2:17. It used to be that there were only 51 minutes in each "hour", but it has been increased to 56. This is one reason why the middle school didn't have to make up a missed day when it was vandalized a couple years ago.

Has anyone tried to load Facebook around 6:25 PM? It's not working for me... Maybe just another FB error.

Looks like the gas industry is taking a big hit so they need to make themselves look good so they spend lots of money to make a 30 second commercial on ABC World News. Perhaps they can't afford that ferrari they wanted? Dunno.

Facebook is working fine on my end. I sometimes have those issues though.

My thoughts exactly when I first started seeing that ad last year. I just mute the TV and dismiss the ad. As soon as I can afford technology that does not involve oil/gas (or as much of it as conventional cars do), it will not be a concern to me.

Mine's only eight minutes longer... 7:30-2:26, but I am privileged to leave at 12:05 this year.

Wow, you guys go to school early, and your school days aren't as long as mine were.  My high school schedule was 8:18-3:26 during most of my time there.  It's at 8:30-3:24 now when I look at their website.

Yeah, that certainly would be nice. Unfortunately, society doesn't allow it mainly because of athletics and plans that people make in the afternoon. Back when I went to Hope Middle School (maybe it was Elliott Elementary :P) in Holt, it actually started at that time.
But yeah, it would be nice.

So this morning, I cleared out the last of the remaining raw files from what used to be my primary external hard drive. I stored everything from New Year's 2009 on it in addition to it being the HD to which files were written. I now have a 2 TB hard drive specifically for raw files, and I haven't even looked through any of the files on it since I hooked it up on Christmas Day.
But over the past 3 weeks, I deleted raw files from the original hard drive, and it now has 1.11 TB of space... even with the 3,000+ videos (some of which are high-def) I have on it.

Well, I heard solar is currently affordable. It will pay off by plugging into your house, and then the power use meter goes back on amount used, then goes forward at night. It will definitely save money on your electric bill, and you can get a tax return for purchasing them!
