Title: The new iPod shuffle ... ?!
Post by: Jonathan on March 12, 2009, 06:41:33 PM
Very recently Apple introduced the new iPod shuffle. Take a peek here. (http://apple.com/ipodshuffle)

I personally don't like it because of its size. Where's the pause button? What's up with the bare area on the front and all sorts of things on the back? If there's that much space, shouldn't they put an Apple logo on the front?! Maybe I'm just used to the thumbpad-sized version of the shuffle. Any other thoughts?

The iPod Shuffle is the stupidest piece of hardware ever.

Agreed. And the whole headphone-debacle is ridiculous. The player itself should have dedicated controls on it.

I bought a iPod Shuffle at the pawnbrokers and I hated it. I took it back a day later.

It kinda sound weird and a little scary that it can actually talk to you. (my opinion, though). I'd stick with my sister's ipod instead.  :noexpression:

I was given a 512MB Generation 1 iPod shuffle for Christmas a few years ago.... I used it every day until I bought a 6G iPod Classic Silver 80GB (which are now discontinued <_<). I like my ipod better than the shuffle.

Thats really nothing new. The software uses windows and mac text to speech to record a whole bunch of tiny recordings. The device cant really speak by itself. This also has been a feature already available for iPods.

Ah, yes, MacInTalk seems to come to mind. Another thing that Apple excelled in.

Whenever I put my name down for a iPod on the internet, my inbox has about 100 new spam mails per every "freebie". This was most prevalent during the "Crown Jewel Era". I know who stole my Mp3 player, and I am going to get it back one way or another. :club:

Indeed. I usually choose the songs I want to play or have the iPod play a playlist, not just have the player play random songs for me. Though, I suppose it's good for people who have a smaller budget.

I also noticed, the iPod Touch is cheaper than the Classic now.

It's crappy.
I liked my 2nd generation Nano until the hold button broke. Hopefully, I will get a touch for my b-day (and a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 with Ubuntu Linux!)

I am trying to find a cheap or a free iPod as a backup.

Question: Do the iPods have equalisers on them? Cos I like bass on all of my songs.

ummm yeah. But from my experience, the Bass isn't the greatest.

Yeah, they do. I always have bass booster on (not always, it takes more battery life). It's not the best, I mean you do get a little bass but it's now like what you would get with your car stereo or a sub woofer.

Instead of boosting the bass on the iPod itself, I just change the bass on the sound system.
