Title: Stupid!!!
Post by: G2003 on July 24, 2007, 03:15:32 PM: Okay so i got a big bag of potato chips at the store today, and when i opened it, the bag was half empty!! How can they do that!?!?!?!?

Thats not fair!!!!!!

That means that what started out as a full bag now LOOKS like half a bag because the chips have settled. But the same amount of chips are still in the bag. If you were to weigh the bag it would weigh what its supposed to.

And that's todays life lesson. :rofl2: :rolleyes:

Post by: lfmusiclover on July 24, 2007, 04:08:35 PM: Sometimes it doesn't.It also depends on how long the bag has been on the shelf. Often, bags more recently put on the shelve have had less time to settle.

Settling does have to do with part of it. But some companies do put a shot of Nitrogen gas in the bag to keep the chips fresh and to reduce breakage.
