Post by: TWCC_VernonMetcalf on October 16, 2010, 10:04:41 PM
Actress Barbara Billingsley, who played June Cleaver on "Leave it to Beaver" as one of America's favorite television mothers, has passed away overnight this morning. She was 94. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101016/ap_en_ce/us_obit_barbara_billingsley (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101016/ap_en_ce/us_obit_barbara_billingsley)

  Do you have any familiarity with 1950s television at all?  :)

I have. Leave It To Beaver is one of my favorite shows. This is so sad.  :( I am also a fan of Andy Griffith and was sad when Don Knotts died.

Until I read that article I didn't know she played in anything outside of "Leave It To Beaver", I watched it a few times on TVLand I believe a few years ago and she and the other actors make the show really heartwarming and sweet unlike television our generation.....but it's sad to hear the news of her passing, the good thing is she did live a good long life.
