Title: Okay, techies!
Post by: G2003 on July 16, 2007, 02:59:45 PM
Need some help here!!! I'm coppying files from a CD to my PC when i get an error that says:

Code: [Select]
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)
I looked it up on Google and it said it was either
A) Bad media
B) Corrupt files
C) the computer

Was wondering if anyone had experience with this, and how to check what the exact problem is?!

Thanks!

I've had this problem numerous times. Every time it was the media. Try copying files from a different cd to see if it works. It could be that the files on the cd are corrupt, and again trying to copy from another cd will determine that. It is not the computer, so you can scratch that one right off the list.

Copying files from another CD works okay. BTW, its only 1 file on the CD that gets that error.

Then that one file is probably corrupt.

I am 100 percent certain that it has nothing to do with your system.
