This is stunning news. The NWS is looking for a CFO - to trim down the workforce. This comes only a few weeks after Sandy rolled through the Northeast. This is NOAA's proposal, by the way - as far as I can tell, neither Congress or Obama had anything to do with this.

I've already ranted enough about this topic but I thought I'd pass this along.

There are a lot of employees at the NWS who are only a couple of years away from retirement. I am sure early retirement will be offered just like other companies have done. They're gonna go younger.
