Title: Help
Post by: Concentric Eyewall on February 25, 2008, 01:42:27 PM
I have this VCR that has only mono audio outputs.  I need stereo output so I can have the audio to my receiver and hear it on all four ceiling speakers.  I'm not interested in just making it "inauthentic stereo" (having two mono feeds fill up all four speakers)

I was thinking of some sort of cheap adapter that converts coaxial to RCA.  Any ideas?

VCR's area dime a dozen these days. Why not just get a VCR that has stereo outs?

As for an coax to RCA adapter, I'm not sure I've ever seen such a device.

Dan, i'm not really sure how far you are, but if you'd be willing to get a good deal on one, theres a great electronics store in Mt. Prospect called Tri-State Electronics. THey have just about every kind of adapter there, for really cheap prices. Or if thats too far, you could get it on the internet.

However, no matter what, i don't think theres a way to get an "authentic" stereo output, with this or any method.

Here's the link:

https://www.tselectronic.com/gc/video/video_adaptor.html

It's 32-3102. It only provides one output though. You could use a splitter.

CE, you can't convert an RF (Coax) connection to a pulse signal (RCA) they are two different modes.

What do you mean?  I own (https://www.tselectronic.com/gc/video/video_adaptor.html?tse_Session=ffade5d898f3d695659dded498604a66) a little coaxial to RCA adapter (only converts video, though)

Wouldn't that be an RF Modulator?

Let me correct my self, you can physically convert the cable connections, but you cant convert the physical format, they are two seprate wave lengths. Is the video in color, or black and white? If its color what is the exact setup you have to obtain that?
