Title: Google and YouTube
Post by: Lightning on March 08, 2011, 06:33:24 PM
The way google runs you tube sucks.  I have had a you tube account for nearly 4 years and although I have a google account, I rarely use it and forgot the password, but was able to change the password. Google forced me to create an account or else it would not let me access my you tube account, even though I already have a you tube account.

Not everyone had a google account, but should not have to create one in order to access their you tube account that they've already had a long time. This is just so unfair!

Although I created my Youtube account jointly with Google, I understand your frustration. You shouldn't have to make an account with Google simply to access an old account. Believe me, if I was in your shoes, I would be pretty upset as well.

But, look on the upside. With a Google account, you can probably use quite a few things that normally you wouldn't have access to. The most notable, probably, is Google Docs.

I was pretty ticked off too. For a few months, they let you decide what you wanted to do. Of course, I said no each time. Then they didn't give me a choice. As far as I can tell, there's no value to the user in doing this. This is just a way for Google to get your information. Sure, Facebook has privacy issues, but at least they're not involved with the government like Google. :censored:

This is the same with Blogger. If you want to create a blog with them, you are forced to create a Google Account. Which kinda sucks, though.

In terms of YT, I have no problems about them at all.
