Title: George Carlin (1937-2008)
Post by: NYCTWCjunkie on June 23, 2008, 01:40:44 AM
Breaking news out of Los Angeles... I know this isn't of the same impact as Tim Russert, but a celebrity comedian has died tonight.

George Carlin, famous for his listing of the "seven dirty words" you cannot say on live television, died of heart failure. He was 71 years old.

I know this is more so of pop culture, but I fondly remember him in the Bill & Ted's Great Adventure movies from the 1980s.

Damn, he was one of my favorite comedians. I've seen him on TV many times, and read both his books. What a shame.  :(

Same here. He kind of stopped being one of my favorites after his last few specials (way too negative/mean). But I've always had a lot of respect for him. That's too bad. :(

Awww, really?  That's a shame!  I loved Carlin's satire!
