Its $2.48 in my area$2.48? That's surprising. Usually prices at the shore cost a lot more than in locations farther inland. I guess it's just like that during the summer when there's more people down there. The prices at the Garden State Parkway rest areas are outrageous during the summer since they can't update the prices as often (it usually costs at least 20 cents more than gas stations located in side roads).

Expect Gas prices to rise due to $100 OIL <_<
Expect Gas prices to rise due to $100 OIL <_<
It wouldn't rise very significantly. If it's been $95, 96, 97 all along, $100 won't make much of a difference.
It will rise, yes. But rising from $97 to $100 is the same as rising from $34 to $37, but when it reaches $100 it somehow has this extra hype.

Alex, don't expect drops anytime soon.

gary i predicted $100 oil when i saw it hit $65 but it will drop soon because demand is dropping at a high rate and the economy is slowing very fast before our eyes

$3.09 last week. $319 this timeWTF?! $319 for gas!
That's what they want. They want to make as much money as possible. Why worry about making money when they can worry about people who can't afford these prices? Another 50 cents and I might not be able to afford to run a car anymore.

About $3.30 here. <_<
That's pretty surprising, considering that not many people are down there this time of year. Wasn't it just $2.50 where you were just a month ago?Nope it was around 2.80 i think. The prices have been jumping sharply though

I didn't realize there was more than one grade of diesel...
I didn't realize there was more than one grade of diesel... :huh:I think he meant regular as in regular, non-diesel gas.
Probably the same person who would accidentally fill his car with Diesel and wonder why his car won't run after that (just a hypothesis) :lol:I wouldn't doubt it. :P
In most stations here, diesel is $4.20 and premium is $3.97.
It's 3.59 for the shore. My dad paid 31 dollars for guess today.
$3.40 now here. In Philadelphia, regular is $3.60 and diesel is $4.65. Special and Supreme gas is getting close to the $4 mark up there too.
$3.59 for regular. I imagine it'll be $4.00 here by Memorial Day. <_<well Billy, they should go up soon
Costco has the cheapest gas prices of ANYONE. The only drawbacks are that you have to be a member, and it's a 15-20 minute drive. I think they are at $3.70 something.
Don't go to Shell if you can help it. They're the most expensive I've seen. The most pricey ones here are the Exxons, Amocos, Lukoils, or any gas station that is in a rural area, far from any other stations.
I paid $3.71 today for premium at Wal-Mart. My car had 1/2 tank and it still held $43.00.
some cars require it...My brother's does...I paid $3.71 today for premium at Wal-Mart. My car had 1/2 tank and it still held $43.00.
Why would you get premium? Big waste of money..
Hate Bush. Revenge soon.Him and the entire Republican party. Hopefully.
Is it true that Obama or Clinton would lower the prices?Clinton wants to have a gas tax free holiday...but Obama is against it, because it isn't going to help the struggling economy that much, if you don't have the tax, or something like that.
Why would you get premium? Big waste of money..
That's certainly odd. Not one of those cars you listed should require premium fuel.
Guys, this goes beyond the two political parties here, so hating our President or supporting one of the current candidates isn't the way to go. Why? Not a single one of them has a solution to our crisis.
And yes, implementing Ethanol is a complete waste of time and especially money.
It has contributed to the major spike in food prices (a significant portion of the corn crop being grown for fuel instead of food) AND so few vehicles use it with it being so scarcely available to the public, what's the point of ethanol being processed to begin with? Unbelievable. Also, think about this... those that supply us with the majority of our oil imports hate us (example: Saudi Arabia and Venezuela). Either we start drilling at home (such as Alaska) or we immediately find a new source of fuel. As long as we continue to rely on foreign oil, we'll NEVER see a major drop in prices again.

Did anybody hear what happened in Saudi Arabia today? They pretty much told us to go find our own oil if we needed more because they weren't going to increase production any further. :furious:Just do what I do: Blame Bush :twothumbs:
I have to disagree. I don't see how this has anything to do with Bush. If it were Obama, or Clinton, or anyone else the outcome would've been the same.
I just saw diesel selling at $5.09 today!!!! :wow:
About $3.80-$3.90 for 87 gas, and $4.99 for diesel. Wouldn't be surprised if we see $6 or $7 gas by year's end.I've heard $5-$6 by years end

Gas prices in Vallero, Chevron, and 7676 is still around? I remember having some 76 gas stations around here back in the 90's, but they all closed.
NJ's prices haven't changed much in the past week or two, but here in SE PA it's now $4.03.
Oil executives predict the cost of oil dropping below $100 by year's end.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24528475
$4.67? Try $4.99. That's the cost of diesel here. Some are even above $5.
I noticed that some gas stations removed the prices for mid-grade and premium and replace them with Regular Cash and Regular Credit in NJ. Why are they doing this?
Man, The Valero Has Risen It's Unleaded To $3.78 yesterday <_<
It was 3.99 here yesterday. I heard it might spike to over 4 bucks though
I hope oil falls to $35 just as it was in 1998In early 1999, oil was just $8 a barrel. It's amazing how much it went up since.
Crude oil back up to $145, and is projected to rise through next week. And the week after that and the week after that. I heard on either TODAY or Good Morning America one day, that gas prices are expected to keep on rising up until the November elections... <_<
I think the oil bubble has finally burst. Look for prices to continue a downward trend. :yes:I personally think we are in a small cyclical patter around the $130/barrel level until after Labor Day, in which the bubble will deflate down to a pattern around $80-$100/barrel.
Last check, I saw $121 a barrel. It's $119 right now, and it looks like it may continue to drop. Let's hope it drops below $100! :twothumbs:
Chris, shut up.:rofl2:

Oil prices dropped more than a dollar today, finishing at $113.01.
That's probably just a temporary rise. It's down to $116.50 now.
The rise is indeed temporary. By tomorrow the slide will continue. There are no other price barriers. $117 was the big one, and we've sank well below that. I expect to see oil drop quite a bit more yet.I gather that $117 is the technical barrier...I feel there's two more psychological barriers left, one at $110 and one at $100. Clear those, who knows.
Is there a reason why it rose? Hopefully it's temporary.Weak U.S Dollar,TS fay, Russia/Georgia countries conflict & Poland's missile contract why can't the whole world just get along for once :censored:

A needed solid uptick in the general fall.

Surprised noone has posted this.Is this just a temporary rise since the BP oil rig just reopened?
Oil is currently up $20.24 or 20%.
Oh wait...it's bizarre since this is the end of the contract. Tomorrow starts the November contract, and is at $109.

That's interesting. I guess oil trading continues after the markets have closed. :thinking:Okay, let me try and explain this.
That's interesting. I guess oil trading continues after the markets have closed. :thinking:Okay, let me try and explain this.
Yesterday at 2:30PM, the October contract for oil expired. Because of a short squeeze, the October contract shot up to $120+. Starting at 9PM with electronic after-hours trading (not real), they started trading the November contract, which was only at $109.
Oil trades on monthly contracts, gas does not.
$2.99!!!!!!!
(I'm excited!)
Wow prices are dropping, which is really good! Is there a chance gas could drop below $2.00 in the near future?I feel safe in saying "no chance in hell".
Wow,I haven't seen it that low since the 90's! :blink:We've had prices this low up until 2004, then we had brief periods of $1.90 prices in late 05/early 06 and again in early 07.
Least Expensive in NJ is $2.06 in Vineland, most expensive is $3.89 at an Exxon in Summit :blink:I live quite close to Vineland, and at the mainland it's $2.31
$1.95 a bit to my south! :DDo you mean Route 73?
As of Sunday, most gas stations along Highway 73 were $2.13.
Wow, have we been transported back to the 90's!? Quick, someone turn on TWC and see what's playing on the LF!! :P :rofl2:
Seriously, though, that's great news. I fully expect to see gas prices drop to less than $1.75.
I kid you not, oil is trading in electronic trading at 50.50/barrel. And one gallon of gas on the open market (pre-tax/transportation/fees) is going for 1.03/gal.Wow, that's simply amazing. I knew it was going to drop, but I'm absolutley shocked at just how far it has dropped. The bottom has just fallen out. And as far as I can see there's nothing yet indicating that this drop is over.

Not nessicarily, People have learned the lesson about gas guzzler's, about how they drive up the priced by using more gasTell that to MSNBC. That's kinda why I watch Fox News. Their Fair, Balanced and Educated.
Squizz, we may have seen $4 gas for the last time. I think its highly unlikely that gas will ever climb that high again. :yes:Let me reconsider my offer, $3.50, take it or leave it.

If the economy is weakening, why are gas prices rising? :dunno:
Yeah, on average 1.85 here :(. I'm not going to gripe about it too much yet, because 1.85 is much better than 3+ haha. I'm good w/ anything below 3 bucks (sad to say..isn't it?)

$2.39, and they've been falling here.Wow, Pennsy usually has higher prices than NJ! Our part of PA though is about $2.59 as of yesterday.
Gas has increased significantly here in the past two weeks, up from $2.17 to $2.41.Same here, from something in the $2.40's to $2.75, though some stations have fallen. Consistent rise though.
$2.99 at several gas stations in Monroe, MI. Remember to round that off to $3 because the prices are actually $2.999. I expect those prices to remain the same through the holiday/travel season, then lower by January.
Averaging around $2.60 - $2.90. I haven't seen it spike above $3 in a while now.The last time I've seen it above $3 here was briefly in mid 2008 (though most gas stations stayed just below $3).
I hope you're right, but with these recent moves by the Federal Reserve (and subsequent weakening/devaluing of the Dollar), I fear that we may soon see new highs.

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- The auto club said Monday the statewide average is 42 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.
Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Benton Harbor, Flint, Grand Rapids and Saginaw/Bay City areas, where it's $2.96 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $3.08.

$3.09-$3.16. I've heard on the news that gas prices may rise to at least $5.00 by early 2012 due to the high demand. :blink:By the time they even get that high demand will fall. So I highly doubt that.

I'm not going to post a link to this as it's pointless (They made a "story" out of a few sentences), but those here in Michigan may find this interesting...I'm not surprised about Flint and Saginaw/Bay City being on there. Mount Morris, on the north side of Flint, typically has the cheapest prices in the state. The highest? Beaver Island west of Petoskey in Lake Michigan... but that is pretty self explanatory. Right now however, the Soo has the highest prices.QuoteDEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- The auto club said Monday the statewide average is 42 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.

:censored: the EPA. Just drill in this country so we can SAVE MONEY FFS!! :angry:Thank you! I really don't understand how people can be against drilling, yet complain about gas prices and the fact that most of our oil comes from countries that hate us. :dunno:
Edit: And at that article, I have mixed opinions on it. Where as gas would cost us under a dollar again if we started to drill, I feel like it is not a good idea to drill because it may ruin our environment. Those wells can be pretty nasty (as far as I know). Economy wise, I am in support. But, because of the environment factor, I'm not sure. If they are clean and can keep them clean, I say we should go for it... and NOT sell it to other countries. We're out of money... we need to use our own and stop borrowing money from one country to buy oil from another. IMO, the economy is in bad shape right now that it sits at a higher priority than the environment at this point.

To follow up from Josh's post above, we shouldn't be dependent on just one source for energy. Let me give you all some numbers I looked up to think about here: 70% of electricity in the United States comes from fossil fuels alone (coal, natural gas, and petroleum). Meanwhile, about 90% of France's electricity comes from their own nuclear plants, hydro plants, and other renewable resources. They don't have to rely on foreign sources nearly as much. Why can't we be like that?
Anyway, regular unleaded gasoline is $3.26 per gallon in my area today.

I use 89 for my car (87 isn't good unless you have a four-banger; I have 281 cubic inches of displacement to feed :) )and that's running about $3.48 in Pittsburgh. Best part is I only get 7-12 mpg in my car.I have a 3.0L V6 on my 14 yr old camry and I can only use Lukoil... there's something in their fuel that my car likes for some reason. Any other brand makes my engine light go on.
Looks like prices should take a drop. Oil prices have tanked these past few daysSurprising if you ask me... I figured demand would go up after the Japan earthquake.
Oil demand will drop in Japan for a while during this cleanup process until they can get all their industries back up and running, and the overall world markets dipped a little lately. That has caused the recent drop in oil prices.Looks like prices should take a drop. Oil prices have tanked these past few daysSurprising if you ask me... You know I was thinking the same thing. Patricks explanation does make sense :yes:Looks like prices should take a drop. Oil prices have tanked these past few daysSurprising if you ask me... I figured demand would go up after the Japan earthquake.
Also does anyone know when the crisis in Egypt and Libya will come to an end?Well in Egypt its whenever the military decides to hand control over to some civilian government. In Libya it will end when Gaddafi finishes killing all of the protesters. :/ Not a very promising situation. Libya should really be a lesson to countries thinking of a revolution. Not all revolutions will end well.
Japan is the third biggest economy in the world. Take out a country who certainly uses a lot of oil, and you get this reaction. However, Pop Light Brown is right about the lag between oil prices and the cost of gasoline. You know I was thinking the same thing. It is around $3.30 and $3.50 from Ozark and Dothan.About the same here in the Birmingham/Hoover area.
As high as $3.79 here.Ouch!
Filled up the tank at $3.279. Whee...how cheap. :rofl2:Nice! Where was it?
Regular: $3.47
Premium: $3.74
Diesel: $4.19
:)
That's cheap. As of last night, it was still $3.69 for regular here.

Uh no, double check your information if you don't believe me. (and we have the 3rd cheapest gas in the nation)Just 3 weeks ago i only paid $2.23 for the same gas at Sam's Club. :angry:You cant be serious... unless you meant months ago :whistling:
It ranges from $3.58 to $3.89 here
$3.53 and rising fast, up more than 20 cents in the last week.
Obama needs to start acting like a president. :)

I agree :hammer:
This is a station in Detroit (It's real... with much higher prices now): http://palinyoubetcha2012.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/image/obama%20gas.jpg (http://palinyoubetcha2012.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/image/obama%20gas.jpg)
And in my area... $4.09 at the Marathon station, and $4.19 at a BP station across town!

Someone is getting rich off this. Don't give me that supply and demand "BS". Remember the Gulf oil spill. Gas prices remained the same and went down slightly.
Where did I say anything about supply and demand?Bryan is just making a general comment about the supply and demand argument as a whole, not anything you said. There's a lot of speculation and corporate greed that drives oil prices, and digging new oil wells in the United States like Mike suggested above won't solve that problem.

There's a lot of speculation and corporate greed that drives oil prices, and digging new oil wells in the United States like Mike suggested above won't solve that problem. But it will help somewhat. Nonetheless, the government needs to stop looking into unnecessary things like making new health laws or extending unemployment. Instead, look at how much WE are paying and how much more into debt this country is getting into. And in order for them to listen, we need to speak up.
This is getting outrageous... $3.99 or so in SE Michigan. No kidding! $3.99 at the station near my house, and $4.09 at the other station. Still $4.19 at that BP station across town as well...
$3.55Lucky. :P <_<

Still $3.94 here... Well, at least it's under $4.No kidding!
I paid $5.15 in Washington DC today. Down from $5.50 earlier this week.$5.50 for gas?! That's downright outrageous
I paid $5.15 in Washington DC today. Down from $5.50 earlier this week.Which gas station charged you that ridiculous price?
$3.73 this morning, $4.19 this afternoon. WTF? :dunno:
Unbelievable...Pfft, those in California who live near the Mexican border often cross the border to get gas at Tijuana and other neighboring mexican cities. The gas there is really cheap when compared to California's gas prices, which is some of the highest in the nation.
$3.73 in Monroe, MI, but just 15 miles to my south (Toledo, OH), $3.35!
How are you guys having such cheap gas? I thought NJs was one of the lowest in the nation. Most of the stations here are around $3:55I keep asking that too but I can't find any answers...
Is it really $5.00 in parts of California?
It's $3.43 here. Experts are fearing $5 gas prices by the summer. What's the reason this time? Just the rising stock market? It's $3.49 here. Was around $3.30 last week. I about had a heart attack when I saw it rise more than 15 cents in one day. The reasons are likely what's going on in the mid-east. I think I read about a production facility in the U.S. shutting down for a while too. And then there's the continue devaluing of the dollar.
And then there's the continue devaluing of the dollar.
Gas has fallen to $3.48 per gallon at the cheapest station I can find in my area. Oil and gas prices are still dropping sharply in the markets, so expect further decreases for the price at the pump soon! How long are they expected to continue to fall?

We had a good old fashioned gas war here last week. :biggrin:What the :censored:?! That's the average around my area right now! No discount, nadda

Lowest I've seen around here is $3.55.Same here.
Haha, most of the gas stations here in NJ are less than that.Wow, really? Lowest I've seen is $3.65 at the Sam's Club in Pleasantville. South Jersey usually has the highest gas prices in the state though. Raceway up in East Brunswick is $3.49
Currently around $3.47 with some as low as $3.35.

As low as $3.19. :twothumbs:That's the cheapest price I can find in my area as well. However, I'm about to make everyone jealous as I know a place in VA a few hours away selling gas for $3.00. I know other states in the Southeast are near this figure, too. I also expect another small drop in gas prices next week given what happened with the markets lately.
(I know, it's still expensive, but w/e :P)
Blacksburg has broken the $3 barrier today. The lowest price around town is now $2.95 per gallon.About the same in, TN.
The markets have come back up in the past month, so the prices are following the course as well. It's now up to $3.35 per gallon in my area.yeah prices around tampa are running around the same rate
Gas at Wawa here rose from $3.55 to $3.59 last night, fell back to $3.55 today. And went back to $3.59 on Saturday.
The markets have come back up in the past month, so the prices are following the course as well. It's now up to $3.35 per gallon in my area. You can also blame the drought in the plains as well, since thanks to that ethanol production has declined.
I saw a station as low as $3.44 yesterday! :oAt that same station yesterday, it was $3.39
why are they falling? I don't notice any decrease in nj but this is only for north
Apparently, Memphis has the cheapest gas in the country according to a news report that I saw. We set at $2.94.
Based on how the markets are moving lately, I think you are going to see these prices climb during the next month or two.
Currently, the cheapest gas price in my area is $3.53. There might be a small amount of relief coming in the next couple weeks as the market prices for gasoline have come down slightly.Spoke too soon... markets closed in today with an eight cent increase.
The cheapest you can find in my area is now $3.43.Ha, we're cheaper than you now... $3.31
$2.89??? :thud:You got to add your state sales tax to that amount you see in the stock quote. Remember, it's the price of gasoline without any taxes.
You got to add your state sales tax to that amount you see in the stock quote. Remember, it's the price of gasoline without any taxes.I'm well aware of that. NJ's taxes are relatively low though.
The cheapest gas in my area is $3.17 now.
Gas was as low as $3.15 a few days ago, but a huge jump in the price is coming based on the markets. It's already up to $3.25 here, and I have a feeling $3.40-$3.50 is coming. What happened?
Conflicts in the Middle East lately plus a report of less gasoline in our supplies due to an increase in demand from Americans driving more than recent years has sent the price upward a fair bit. You'll all notice it soon.Gas was as low as $3.15 a few days ago, but a huge jump in the price is coming based on the markets. $2.89
It hasn't been below $3.00 here in over two years.
$3.55After a day, it dropped to $3.52, then BOOM up to $3.89 the next day! :hammer:
I read online where the end may be in sight to the falling gas prices.
Im not sure. :dunno:
but its $4 a gallon in Santa Ana, CA. If I recall.
$4.39 here. Average price at ALL TIME high.Really? That's terrible! But the invasion has made it worse. It's between 4 and 5 bucks here in Alabama.
BTW, the national average was already at an 8-year-high BEFORE Russia invaded Ukraine.
Saw my first $5.00 today. First of many, unfortunately.
