Does anyone on this forum have a cable company that only shows visual EAS Info but Does not play Audible EAS Info??
-
Is that even legal?
-
Mine does neither.
-
Mine Shows The Visual Info. However there is no audible info. No EAS Header noise. No Attention Signal. No Audio Message. And No SAME EOM.
-
Mine's the exact opposite; we get the EAS noises, and the audio feed for the severe weather, but nothing visual. :noexpression:
-
The EAS here on Time Warner Cable is working properly. Got visual and audio messages.
-
I get the WTBS EAS a few times, they've got the visual, and audio.
-
Mine has the Header then says "The Emergency Alert System has been activated, please tune to Channel 10 for more information on this emergency alert." The visual message has EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM on the top and what ever type of alert it is (Usually Weather Watches in Yellow and Warnings in Red) In english and spanish. then the SAME EOM
-
I remember back in the late 1990s, KUVN Univision 23 only scrolls the EAS info, and that's it.
-
We don't even get told what channel to change it to, if there's a warning. <_< I swear, our EAS is a malfunctioning piece of crap, because not only does THAT rarely work, but neither do our sirens. I either have to have it on TWC, a local station, or have my weather radio on to know about any kind of warning. Not saying that that's a bad thing, but I rarely have all three on, these days. If there's something big and unexpected moving in the area, I kind of like to know about it.
-
The Audio On Mine dosen't work. Even if the source signal is different
-
We get the audible info in our area. Back in the late '90s and early '00s, it used to freak me out. :wow:
-
I even called the cable provider and they said that it was in issue with the broadcast source. But every station Source that tested the system on the CATV had no audio
-
I have visual info along with the aleart tone with my new cable service, but none of the audio service like Comcast had.
-
Was the Comcast audio Good, Bad, Annoying, Or None of the 3.
-
Mine says something like this,
"-Severe Thunderstorm Warning-
Switch to channel 999 for more information"

Even on basic cable?
Good thing I have DirecTV.

I have Qwest, on basic cable they don't do the black screen in my area. It has a ticker at the bottom of the screen of what you were watching and the EAS Tone and Same header come on.
-
Might be unrelated, but I thought I'd follow up on my previous post, in this topic, and say that my tornado sirens work again, now. Still not a well working TV-EAS, though. Typical.
-
Still getting visual info but no audible info. Our TV EAS really stinks <_<
-
Not trying to be rude here, but what's with everyone's fascination of the EAS?

No it's not just you. There have been numerous other topics about EAS in other twc forums. I don't know why the excitement lol.
-
Oops. :pinch: Didn't know about that
-
LOL don't worry. :) Maybe if someone can tell me what's so good about EAS then i'll understand. Is the beeping noise cool? Is the scrolling message weird?
-
OK :)
