Sorry for double-posting, but I'm still having problems playing certain videos on YT using Chrome. A certain video will show the first video frame and the loading circle, and then after about 10 seconds my computer will freeze up completely, requiring a hard reboot. I tried everything I've researched and I'm still getting the same error

No problems at all with Firefox, so I'll just use that browser to play YT vids for now because I fear that my computer will freeze again if I played the videos on Chrome  :fear:  Hopefully this YT issue with Chrome will get resolved soon.

All my laptop issues have finally been resolved now! B)

Jim, I'm not sure why YT is acting up on you for Chrome.  Have you tried using an older version of Chrome?  Then, you would know if an updated version caused a bug that Google must fix.

As of yesterday I started using Chromium (an open source web browser similar to Chrome) and I found out that PepperFlash was to blame for the weird YT video loading on Chrome and subsequent computer freezes. Chromium does not have PepperFlash, so I started using the new browser and I was able to play the videos that weren't loading correctly on Chrome, and they all work great!

So it's goodbye Chrome and hello Chromium, as the latter will now be my new default web browser

Would I have better performance if I were to purchase a wireless router, than use the one my ISP gave me?

I have Windows 8.1.  When I'm ready to close the IE app, I go back to the desktop and go to the upper left corner to close the app, but it doesn't close.  According to task manager it's still running and when I click the IE app it takes me back to the last page I was on.  Anyone else getting this?

I had another computer freeze problem with Chromium OS last night, but I did some research and I read that someone said that others who have had this issue seemed to have solved the problem by uninstalling their RealTek audio driver and then re-installing it with the latest version. So I tried that, and then I tested out the main reason for my computer's latest freeze, a Halloween flash video of the Google logo. No more freezes!   Now I'm hoping that the updated audio driver will work for some of the YouTube videos that I had trouble loading in the past on Chrome/Chromium that also subsequently froze my computer. Fingers are crossed...

My disc drive imports music at warp speed.  I can't slow it down.  The error correction in iTunes is checked, but still imports fast.  Anything to slow the drive down?
