I like the roads in NYC. For example I would study and make alternate routes for the Van Wyck or Grand Central Parkways.

What's the "Big Dig"?
You call yourself a roadgeek and like the roads of Boston, but you have no idea what the Big Dig is?  :footinmouth:

Seriously. It's only like the biggest road/tunnel project in the history of history.

Was being sarcastic. Not sure if you caught that or not, hard to tell w/ that emoticon

Your emoticon doesn't indicate sarcasm. Something like  :whistling: or  or  <_< would have been more appropriate.

This is exciting. I just found a 1981 Rand McNally Road Atlas!  :thrilled:

It's neat to see how different everything looked 27 years ago.

Probably not a road geek, but I do like roads. I like figuring out back ways to get to places and riding along rural roads. There's plenty of those to my south and east.

Route 40 is my favorite road to travel. Scenic and right in the middle of farmland.

I'm like Mike. I'm not sure I'd call myself a road geek, but I do enjoy traveling the roads of MD and surrounding states. West Virginia is my favorite place to travel the roads. Lots of back roads, and its a very rural setting. Delaware is a fun place to travel through too.
