Hillary was crying because she was losing and Obama is winning the primaries
-
WARNING: Political discussion is okay. But please, keep yourselves in check. That's all I ask.
Thank you.
-
Obama '08!
-
I'm going for Giuliani
-
I personally don;t want to see another Republican in office right now. I think some fresh views and opinions are needed. Putting another Republican in office won't change anything at all.

What does America need fixed?s

my feelings exactly.
-
What does America need fixed?s
Because Bush F'ed up the country almost beyond repair.
-
he wants to sand more troops!
-
Well Thunder, when you consider that our countries economy is probably the weakest in the world, that we've been at war for almost 7 years (though I do think we need to stay until the job is done), and that the national debt is somewhere in the trillions, it seems that there's much that needs fixing.
-
the dollar is weaknening too. Why?
-
the dollar is weaknening too. Why?
Because our economy is in shambles.

WHy does obama have a weird name?
-
WHy does obama have a weird name?
Because that's what his mother decided to name him......
-
He's Hawaiian, that's why. ;)
-
He's Hawaiian, that's why. ;)
but hes black
-
He's Hawaiian, that's why. ;)
but hes black
He's not black. He's Hawaiian. Hawaiian's aren't white either.
-
he looks African Amercan to me. He even said hes african-am
-
Perhaps he's African-Hawaiian then. But the Hawaiian part is the reason for his name (which is what you asked about).
-
I believe his father is African-American.
-
obama is Hawaiian? Alrighty then
-
Yes he is.
-
Gary, who are u going for?
-
I would like to see Obama win. I don't like Hillary, and I don't like any of the Republicans.
-
Barack Obama is from Hawaii, but his father originated from Kenya.
-
I also don't want to see a republican in the house. I am also going for Barack Obama.
Latest primary report as Hillary leading Obama by less than 4,000 votes, with only 54% of precincts (sp) reporting, so it's still anyones primary.
McCain won New Hampshire (no surprise there)
-
Thank you for that clarification Billy. :P
-
Barack Obama is from Hawaii, but his father originated from Kenya.
That makes more sense :sunglasses:
-
I'm going for Hillary, since she has a husband (who was a great president) who has experience with the job.

LOL it was a like a week ago. Amazing

I disagree on that. People voted for him solely because of his looks (which, IMO, aren't all that great anyway). He did nothing during his presidency that I would deem great. Except maybe his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Thunder, you started this thread. You asked me for permission before doing so. And you forgot it was here? :rofl2: :rofl2:
-
Yes a lot of people say Bill CLinton was a great prez but i dont recall him doing a single thing. Also Hillary Clinton might be the same way too if she wins the elections
-
I don't even remember him being president, so I can't say anything. But, I think the United States has had enough with Clinton's and Bush's  (especially bush's)
-
Clinton's presidency ended in 2000, so it really wasn't very long ago. :D
-
Clinton's presidency ended in 2000, so it really wasn't very long ago. :D
I know, I just don't seem to remember it. What really sparked my political interest was the 2000 presidential race, and even though I followed the race, I don't remember him at all...
Ah well.
-
Well the latest numbers show that Obama has a very slight edge over Clinton on the Democrat side, and that John Mccain is WAY out in front on the Republican side.
I heard earlier today that Mitt Romney was suspending his bid for president.
-
Yup, Romney dropped out, and hasn't backed anyone.
I suspect that McCain will take the nomination, and Huckabee will be McCain's VP.
The Democratic side of things sure are going to be interesting
-
Well good. :ninja:
-
Wow the Republicans are running empty on candidates!
-
That's the idea...it's supposed to go to one.
-
Gil thinks Obama would be a wonderful president.
-
Yeah I think I'd definitley vote for Obama if I voted.
-
So do it! The Potomac primaries are coming up!!!
Of course if you're voting for Obama don't bother :P
-

Pfft. No thank you. :P
-
Yeah I think I'd definitley vote for Obama if I voted.
So you're not registered to vote, or you are registered, but don't vote?
-
Yeah I think I'd definitley vote for Obama if I voted.
So you're not registered to vote, or you are registered, but don't vote?
I'm not even registered. Honestly, I didn't register because I'd heard that it makes you a prime candidate for jury duty (which I haven't the time or desire to do). But I got called to jury duty last year WITHOUT being registered, so that theory is a bunch of BS in my book. Maybe I will register at some point, who knows. :sunglasses:
-
If the upcoming president runs 1 term, I will be able to vote the year i turn 18. :sunglasses:
-
You'll be able to vote then whether he runs one or two terms
-
oh..right. Heh...
-
Yeah I think I'd definitley vote for Obama if I voted.

Same here, my family never voted but yet they called for jury duty, which we refused to attend
-
I thought you can't refuse jury duty.
-
I thought you can't refuse jury duty.
You really can't but due to a family crisis and not having the time to listen to some bogus story in court, we couldn't attend.
-
I thought you can't refuse jury duty.
You can't REFUSE, but you CAN come up with a valid excuse, i.e. no transportation, ill, and so on.
-
I thought you can't refuse jury duty.
You can't REFUSE, but you CAN come up with a valid excuse, i.e. no transportation, ill, and so on.
Exactly.
How come you cannot refuse jury duty?
-
I thought you can't refuse jury duty.
You can't REFUSE, but you CAN come up with a valid excuse, i.e. no transportation, ill, and so on.
Exactly.
How come you cannot refuse jury duty?
Because the law dictates that jury duty is a civic duty for every person.
-
Well i dont think its fair <_<
-
Honestly, who cares. If you have a job, you don't have to go to work. We live in a society. Absolutely no reason for people to not contribute.
-
I agree. If I could've I would've gone.
-
Darn, if only elections were held in 2009 :P
I would love to vote in this election, because possibly, it could be a historic one. Scratch that, it already has been historic.
I just can't believe it's already been about 4 years since the last election
Oh well.
I've pretty much decided that Barack or HIllary would do a fine job. They basically stand on the same side with most issues (there are a few they disagree on).
-
I believe voluntary jury duty would be much more effective then cumpulsory, a) because the courts would actually and homogeneously have jurors who want to be there, and b) Voter turnout would shoot up.
-

Exactly
-
John McCain has enough delegates to be the Republican nominee!
-
It looks like Obama is winning texas (or did)
-
Uhh...I heard Clinton won all except Vermont.
-
Correct
-
McCain is...not good...
-
I can't trust mcCain
-
Because?
-
To me, he seems exactly like another Bush. Not what this country needs. Actually, no republican is what this country needs.
-
That's a little partisan to say the least
-
That's a little partisan to say the least
Sure is. :)
-
Eh...I vote on values of the person, not the party. I will be voting Democrat, however, because I personally am anti-war.
-
Eh...I vote on values of the person, not the party. I will be voting Democrat, however, because I personally am anti-war.
I'm anti-war as well
-
Yea, I am anti-war as well (unless they attack us first)
-
I'm voting for Clinton because she's gonna take care of the healthcare system. The healthcare here is awful where people can't afford the medication they need.
My other family members and basically everyone in my neighborhood are also voting for Clinton. I dont like it that people are voting for her just because she's a woman. They need to have better reasons then that
-
I don't think she has what it takes to fix the healthcare system whatsoever. I think her style of politics is old fashioned and outdated as well...
-
I'm taking Obama. I like thd tactics he does in his presidency. I hope he gets nominated.
I'm also sad that Romney is gone. I don't like Mccain because i don't rly trust him
-
Trust him with what? You don't have to **** him, just vote for him!
-
It's something personal.
-
BUMP :P (sorry)
Okay, who is getting tired of hearing about Brack Obama and Hillary Clinton going back and fourth between each other. I certainly am. I really hope that Pennsylvania decides the candidate. I wouldn't mind either of them winning, becuase I agree with both of them (they pretty much agree on MOST topics). But, I hope these 2 candidates know that they are loosing votes to John McCain (at least that's what I've heard).
And what's up with Hillary lieing... I mean..come on!
Also, I am not too happy with ABC. They held a HORRIBLE debate last (Tuesday?) week.
I'm done :)

Yes, I'm sick of hearing of the he said she said BS between them.
However, McCain is gaining few if any votes. Very few people want a third W term, which is what they'd effectively get by voting for McCain. I can all but assure you that the 2008 election will be won by a Dem. Not that I care, cause I don't vote either way! :P
-
I'm an Obama person. Hopefully he'll win.
-
I was a Hillary Supporter at first but seeing her making frequent lame comments and "pushing behind limits" to win i changed my candidate of choice to Obama. We need a young, strong man, not an old, political buff like Clinton.
-
Pant suit!
-
I was willing to give Hillary a chance until that bit about her supposedly "forgetting" the circumstances of her arrival in Kosovo years ago. How do you forget that you were greeted by Kosovoan children when you landed, and instead remember being shot at in your aircraft?
-
I just have to say that I can't wait until Wednesday after the PA primaries are over so I can get a little break from all these darned political ads.
-
Hillary won Pennsylvania, 55% to 45%.
Now on to Indiana: The State that Finally Matters.
I will be voting 5/6 for the first time.

JUST IN: Clinton will not stop if she loses in IN. (WHAS 11-TV, Louisville, KY)
I have a Guy in my class that says if we do not stay in Iraq they will bomb all of the state capitals. What an Idiot! :foolish:

Hillary won't stop, even if she has to be dragged out by her ankles, kicking and screaming.

It appears my political views clash with most everyone's around here.
This ought to be an interesting experience.
-
I used to be the youngest around here. Now there are 5th Graders...
-
Nothing Has Rly Changed, just Obama and Hillary Fighting for the nomination while The Rapblicans r kinda low profile.
-
Hillary Will Win The Democratic Nomination & The Race To Be The Next President
-
I used to be the youngest around here. Now there are 5th Graders...
Yep, we have someone here who is only 10. You were pretty young when you joined TWCC, too (i think 11).
-
Back In Topic, I think The Republican Party is so quiet since Huckabee and Romney left
-

5th graders are annoying. I have neighbors who are in the 5th grade and they won't quit telling me dumb questions!
anyways, i agree logica. Since McCain is the only one left people would have to choose him if they were to chjoose a republican. But he'll be spending a lot of money towards the war.
-
They like you Vic, that's why they ask you questions.
-
They like you Vic, that's why they ask you questions.
True. And i'll admit some of my questions I ask are dumb too :(

At least Gary's comment was nice :D

True, too. :sunglasses:

My class ecxpt for 3 people are stupid, even my girlfriend in Republican no wonder she weighs 180 pounds! :( :ninja:
-
anyways, i agree logica. Since McCain is the only one left people would have to choose him if they were to chjoose a republican.
You're kidding right? Do you know anything about primaries? The point is to knock it down to the final contestant, that's how you have a presidential race between one Democrat and one Republican..... :foolish:
-

Uhh, I think the dunce cap should be bestowed upon you Dan. Vic is absolutley correct. There is no other Republican on the ballot besides McCain.
-
Yeah. if they want a Republican for prez McCain would be the only choice
-
Thanks for repeating what I already said, Captain Obvious.
-
Uhh, I think the dunce cap should be bestowed upon you Dan. Vic is absolutley correct. There is no other Republican on the ballot besides McCain.
Change that to "will be no other Republican on the ballot in November besides McCain"....in Primary season, the republicans are still there...
http://www.co.marshall.in.us/Departments/Vote%20Reg/Forms/2008%20election/primary/centerrep.pdf
It'd just be a dead vote, 'tis all.

Exactly, so for all intents and purposes McCain is right now the only valid candidate.
-
...and that's why I'm voting Democrat in the primary...there's absolutely nothing major at stake in our county/state's republican election (pres, gov, major judges) are already sealed.

Did A Little Something Today:
-
Obama might win if he wins big by a huge margin in Indiana and North Carolina since Clinton is catching up.
Besides, It's obvious who'll be nominated in the Republican, Mccain, since he got alot of winner-take-alls in delegates in Super Tuesday.
-
Obama doesn't need to win big in any state. He just needs to win. If anyone needs big wins its Hillary.
-
I think Obama just needs to keep close to Hillary or win in caucus and primaries so he can get more delegates and stay ahead (Unless They're winner-take-all)
-
I just heard from my couson he supports Obama! :innocent:
-
I'm clearly for Hilldog all the way.
-
I'm clearly for Hilldog all the way.
Yeah? Do her pant-suits do it for ya? :P
-
I'm for Obama. I kinda think Hillary is too much and that John Mccain is going for continuing the war by sending money, like Mccain is another Bush but older.
-
Mccain is another Bush but older.
Bingo.

Uhh, I think the dunce cap should be bestowed upon you Dan. Vic is absolutley correct. There is no other Republican on the ballot besides McCain.
Umm, I think you're misunderstanding what I said. What I said was that the ultimate goal of a primary is to narrow it down to one candidate for Republican, and one candidate for Democrat. Victor was acting like it was such an injustice that McCain was the only one on the ballot
-
Ahh, I see what your saying. Sorry about the misunderstanding. :sunglasses:
-
Not a problem...I probably didn't word it clearly enough.
Now take that dunce cap off of me and put it back on Victor :P
-
With pleasure! :P
-
Mccain is another Bush but older.
Bingo.
And uglier (if that's even possible).
-
Let' Say...Older, Mccain is 71 now (Older Than Reagan Elected)
. As For Guliani, he didn't do much in debates, and did not campaign much, such as his early lead, which cost him dropping out. I was rly for going for Romney actually.
-
Obama wins my home state of North Carolina.
Too close to call in Indiana, last I heard. As I have said before, I just want this to be over, and have a Democratic presidential candidate.
-
Obama wins my home state of North Carolina.
Excuse me? In la-la land today? You live in Illinois, my friend

Mine, all mine!!! :thrilled:
The race in NC is Obama's by a rather large margin. Indy is still too close to call.
-
Yes, I was born there :P
Obama still ahead by just a little bit. He is nearly 200 points from the needed delegates. But, if Florida and Michigan were counted, I believe it has been said that Hillary would be ahead..

What I Don't Like From Mccain is that he was gonna be nominated just because he was a Foot Soldier in Vietnam and they think he's a "hero"
Any President That Was A General Failed Except George Washington. Ulysses S. Grant failed to make that much changes ans Zachary Taylor...don't know much about what he did.

First of all, whether you support McCain for president or not, he is a hero, and fought for what you didn't.
Second of all, what? Every president that was a general "failed" except George Washington? What?

First Of All.....Ulysses S. Grant Didn't Do much to the country and they only elected him because he was a General And A Hero. He wasn't able to handle corruption that much. As for Romney, he was actually a good candidate for economy and all of those. But They Didn't Know Much About Romney Than Mccain because they already know in the US That Mccain was a hero. I'm trying to make a point, ok?

Yes, the point about Grant is correct. His administration contained corruption, and he was only elected because he was a Civil War hero.
But, they didn't vote McCain in just because he was a hero.
-
Maybe They Wanted to Nominate Mccain since he had some experience in Politics and wanted to give him a chance. Or Maybe He Just Had Some Good Ideas Like The Immagration Idea was actually good.
-
My paper had a letter to the editor that said Obama was dangerous and that he would have muslims invade america, what a load! :(
-
No. Not rly. SOme Muslim Group Want Obama to die.
-
Obama is not muslim! He's last name may sound musilim but it isn't.
Haha, I remembered in CNN they got criticized when they said "Obama-bin Laden". It was a typo error from the computer.

Hillary wins West Virgina. Damn it! <_<I wish Obama wins more states from clinton. <_<
-
Hillary will be the next president of the united states
-
Do you like Hillary? I never like her and NEVER will! :furious: I like Obama more than her.
-
how come?
-
She in Charleston, WV and she always on capital cities. :whateva: :finger:  <_<

Hillary will be the next president of the united states
There is virtually no possible way she can do that.
The other night on Nightly News (that'd be last thursday I guess), Tim Russert did a very nice report on how it is not entirely impossible, but rather unlikely she'll get the nomination. He showed a white board with all of the Super Deligates possible, and all the delegates from each state left for primaries, and for Hillary to win, she'd need at least 75% 70% after tonights win in WV. (give or take..not exactly sure the percent) of the vote in EACH state.
Her chances would be better if Florida and Michigan were counted, but, that is likely not going to happen. But, Russert also brought up the fact, that if anything, the Committee or w/e would go fifty fifty between Florida and Michigan, giving half the delegates to Clinton, and half to Obama. Even then, I believe she still wouldn't have enough delegates.
I'll see if I can pull that video up :twothumbs:
Not the video I wanted to share, but here is one from tonight (I am assuming) Tim Russert says she'd have to win 70% of the delegates left http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619/#24598831

Thank you. I'm surprised I came up with that. I had to re-read some of it to see if it even made sence. Tim Russert is the reason why I watch NBC for election coverage. He give understandable (obviously), precise reportes

Clinton is the obvious winner of WV:
58% Reporting
Hillary Clinton: 66%
Barack Obama: 27%

Kyle..sense, sense :rofl2:
Here's (http://www.nbc.com/The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno/video/#mea=250438) a good look at Tim Russert's analysis of the presidential race (scroll to where it has 1:15 left)

OH MY GOSH
When I was typing that, I actually put in the beginning "Thanks Dan, and it was all spelled right for you" ..but that sounded stupid.
Gosh  I'll drill that in my head one of these days.
On the local news, they showed an ABC News Poll, and 40% of the people surveyed, said they wanted Hillary to be Obama's running mate. Interesting.
My Gov't teacher keeps saying "It'd be a hard ticket to beat" if they both teamed up.
-
Time to bring an old thread alive, as the elections are just over 2 months away.
Wanted to get some input on the VP candidates.
Do you think Joe Biden was a good choice for Obama, and that Sara Palin was a good choice for McCain?
Biden I think was an okay choice. I would have gone with Hillary over Biden, as Hillary and Obama have (FOR THE MOST PART) the same stance on issues. But, I guess Biden is good. He's got the experience, and maybe that's what Obama needed, someone with more experience.
Now, Sara Palin. Hadn't even heard of her until the day. WTF was McCain thinking, asking a women, younger than Obama, less experience than Obama, to be on the Ticket. OH YEAH... he wants to try to grab some of the Hillary supporters who want nothing to do wiht Obama. I don't think this woman was a good choice...at all  I'm about to watch some of the Republican convention this week, and maybe my mind will change about Palin..
Your thoughts?
-
I was hoping Obama would pick Hillary, but Biden is okay I suppose.
-
Is Palin a good choise for VP for mccain?
-
Its a matter of opinion Vic. What's yours?
Personally, I think its a very odd choice. Not at all what I would have expected. On the other hand, I think Joe Biden is a very good choice for Obama, what with his expertise in foreign policy.
-
I think in order for Palin to work for McCain, he is going to have to introduce us to her, as many people are probably not familiar with her. As I said, I'm definitely going to catch her speech next week at the Republican National Convention, see what he has to say about Obama and McCain.
-
My uncle's nephew is Obama's driver.
-
Since politics can make me say really evil, harsh things, I have nothing to say, except... Thank you, Republicans, for the Sarah Palin choice! To a Democrat like me, she IS the gift that keeps on giving!
-
Now they are making a fuss that Palin's 17 year old daughter is pregnant. Who cares  It'd be different if she's having an abortion, but she's not, so they should just lay off, and not bring it into the campaign.
-
WTF was McCain thinking, asking a women, younger than Obama, less experience than Obama, to be on the Ticket.
Why does McCain have to compare his running mate to Obama...at all?
-
Anyone been watching the Republican debate? I watched the last 10 or so minutes of McCain's speech last night. I really liked what he had to say. I was watching highlights on the news this morning, and he made only a few bashes toward Obama, and his OWN party. I liked it. I don't think Palin is as bad as I had originally thought.
-
It will certainly be interesting to see if America has learned from its mistakes. Sadly, there are way too many stupid people out there.
-
I didn't see the RNC because I actually saw the DNC from Denver on NBC
-
I guess Obama will do...he's a good choice for zhe middle class.
-

The DNC and the RNC were on seperate dates..

He's the ONLY choice for the middle class...
-

People care because of the hypocrisy factor. If conservatives didn't try to shove family values, abstinance only, no sex before marriage bull crap down our throats, it wouldn't be such a big deal. But since Palin can't even keep her own family under control, then people are ripping her a new one.
There're a lot of things I've heard about Palin. She's sexist, racist, she left the town she used to be mayor of in economic ruin... there were only FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE IN THE TOWN!!!!!! Including her family! HOW do you put a town of five thousand in economic ruin?!
... Yeah. I don't like her.
-
Anyone see the debate last night? It was brutal, to say the least. <_< :censored:
-
The first half=Obama. Second half=McCain. It came out rather evenly, I thought. I also thought that Barack did quite a bit of agreeing with McCain. :P
-
I could not believe the amount of insanity and idiocy spewing out of McCain's mouth, near the end. It would be VERY scary to have someone like him run this country. <_< :faint:
-

They both spewed unbelievable amounts if idiocy as far as I'm concerned.

So the house is getting ready to take up that bill again. And guess who gets to talk last? Rep. Pelosi, the ***** who chided the Repubs. Monday.
-
Did anyone catch the final debate last night? I forgot about it, until I went to go get gas, and they had it playing in the gas station when I went to pay  So, I really didn't get to watch it. I heard that it was pretty personal attack-ish. I'm really glad I can't vote yet (even though I want to) because I am not even sure who I want to win. At first, it was Obama, but after watching both him and McCain speak, they both have good ideas, but both also have..ehh...sketchy ideas.
For those who are voting, have you decided which candidate you'll vote for (mentioning WHO you are voting for isn't necessary, since it is kind of a private matter ;) )
-
I honestly don't like either of the canadites ideas. However, i think this picture should make any honest American think twice about voting for Senator Obama:

I went to the McCain/Palin rally in Virginia Beach on Monday and got to shake Sarah Palin's hand. It was fun seeing all the people and the excitement in the crowd.
-
What! Did you take any pics?

This question may seem awkward, but isn't Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin a member at this forum?

Haven't we already been over this?

Well then why is there a member here named "palin" If it was a Palin supporter, then quite frankly that was a dumb username to start out with.

My guess it was someone who only joined to probably see one of the hidden files that someone attached and leech it, as you can't see file attachments on posts without being registered and logged in, and haven't been back since.

Since when are usernames critiqued? I don't care what you call yourself to be quite honest. As long as its clean.

I would have loved to see Sarah Palin and Tina Fey conversate on the show to each other, but they didn't thus I was slightly disappointed.

I love Obama. He is sharp and normal! He also gets what is going on!
I hate Busch! He's a clown.

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (CNN) -- With 10 days until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense, they are spilling out in public, sources say.
Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."
McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

Sad. :itsok:

Very sad indeed. I think if either Obama wins or looses there will be some civil disorder after the election.

HERE WE GO!
NBC has awarded Kentucky to McCain, Vermont to Obama.
Currently McCain leads, 8-3.
