California government just approved it. Cuss-Free week is this first week of March (starting tomorrow), and it's voluntary.
Hmm, I wanna see how this week pulls off, and I wanna see if it's going to work.
-
I think with all the problems in CA, state government should be more concerned about other issues, rather than worrying about what people say (need I remind you we still have freedom of speech in this country).
-
Okay, seriously? There are much more important things than that. Not participating.
-
I don't get this idea either. Doesn't California have a massive budget deficit to deal with in 2010 along with most other states in this country? I think that would be a far bigger deal. If we have to go so far to making special days or weeks on learning how to treat one another, then I'm worried. :hmm:

My point exactly.

What a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars! This is what the f*** is wrong with our government. As you may be able to tell I will not be participating :P Perhaps they should try a ban on cussing and charge a fine for every person who does. Budget crises over! Just kidding but that makes more sense then this
-
Education cuts is one of the huge problems here in CA, especially here in my area. Goverment here needs to focus on that more, imo.
As a CA resident, I highly doubt I will be participating. I don't think my college is going to, either.
-
This is retarded. it's natural for someone to curse
-
I could make a joke here...but I won't. ;)
-
Yeah, sorry to say it, but this is a really silly idea. I don't think many people will be participating.
-
we're halfway to the week now and it's not working! I cussed many times and no one seemed to tell me. muahaha.
The govt here made a very bad decision on passing this ban, they should have hold it off till... idk.. in the summer or next year. As of now I hear no reports of this ever since.
-
Wow, i just hope they lift the ban soon

Its not a ban
-
F**k this :P I'm not doing it.
-
Lol, psycho. Well, I don't have to worry about that anyway, as I hardly ever suss (even in real life.)

True I dont cuss much in general but its nice to have the option to. lol
-
I harldy ever cuss anymore. I used to..a lot when I worked in fast food. I got pissed REAL easily because of stupid people. I know cussing isn't the answer, but it just kind of slipped out. Usually I only cuss when I am joking around with someone.
-
i can go a whole week without cussing pretty easily because i dont cuss  :)

Thanks for reviving this thread when it was made for February!

Yeah, this happened A MONTH AGO. I haven't heard of this since the cussing week took place.

I'm sorry, but this needs to be brought to Florida, IMO. At least once a day at school, I hear the word f***. :itsok:

This happens at my school all the time
Some people have at least one cuss word in every sentence :pinch:

Unlike you guys, I have zero issues with people cussing or using the f-word in school. It's high school and natural for kids our age to cuss like that. What else would ya expect?

How about in the classroom with a teacher close by?

Yup everyday it happens. The teacher can't even hear closely.

I agree. Kids swear, it's a fact of life.

I agree as well, even though I personally don't swear all that much.

I don't either but we sometimes use those words to express our anger or feelings. It just disturbs me to see preschoolers cuss <_<
-
Now preschoolers is a different story, yes... they can't be saying that stuff that early. Teens I can understand because of how stressful that time of life can be.

That's called parenting when we're talking about preschoolers.

Once?! haha well you are lucky then!! I hear the F word every 10min or so and the N word is a constant as well. That particularly gets on my nerve. Why in the hell do you use a racial insult to describe each other. Dumb

Not if they have parents that teach them manners. :nono:

Something that 95% of parents don't do down here.

Same here. My friend uses the f word a lot of times at school (which annoys me), but she does not swear when she is not at school.

I said "at least once", which leads up to being like 25 times. I will confess that I use it at school but only in front of friends and very quietly.

I use it too every now and then but not constantly and in an environment where its not suitable. Some folks cant seem to figure out when its acceptable and when it isnt

i dont use them at all
i dont even use them when someone ticks me off

probably because you have a certain common condition that'll make you not say cuss words. And it's a good idea since using cuss words doesnt help the problem but just creates more unnecessary drama instead
