I am sure none of you know about this, because from what it sounds like, you all are not fans of NBC :P. On NBC, they just showed a commercial for some animated movie, and it began with "This is a Weather Update.." (or something like that), and in the background, you can here The Weather Channel's "chime" from the 03-05 era. I was like "wow that sounds so familiar", and no sooner do I walk away from the room, I hear Adam Berg talking, and it is some cheesy thing about ice cream and fried chicken in the forecast (or something along those lines) with a cheesy lower third. Adam Berg ended with "For the weather channel, I'm Adam Berg". This probably makes no sense at all. But whatever, point is, Adam Berg was on a commercial for an animated movie, on NBC, with the chimes from 2003ish. :P

Yeah that was a promotional thing for the movie "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" They showed that segment w/ Adam your talking about on PME yesterday. If I'm not mistaken, isn't this movie based off a story, I know I remember reading something like this in elementary school.

Good lord
* Four 30-second, on-air segments feature on-camera meteorologist Adam Berg presenting Chewandswallow forecasts, the town featured in Cloudy, and will air on TWC beginning Sept. 14 through the Friday, Sept. 18, movie premiere.
* A custom 15-second spot with Berg forecasting different food systems will air on NBC Prime.
* Out-of-banner advertisements on the weather.com site will be weather triggered during rainy forecasts to show meatballs falling on the local forecast pages four days leading up to the premiere.
* Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will have exclusive ownership of the weather.com homepage Sept. 17 with a 970x418 window shade unit and a 300x600 ad unit that features an embedded movie trailer.
* Cast members from the movie will introduce segments of "Local on the 8s"

Um, this sounds like a little too much. <_< The article says that weather.com is being taken over, and stuff before LOT8s will premiere. Honestly, just because the movie has "Cloudy, with a chance of..." as a part of its title doesn't mean TWC has to go crazy.
But guess what, this isn't TWC...it's NBC. Ahh!!! :P
-
They're going WAY too overboard with that movie...seriously. <_<

The movie is made by Sony. Im surprised NBC (NBC Universal) would be so found of that. Guess the $$s are just too good

Bad recording but here is the Adam Berg clip
-
I have to agree that this move is really pushing that movie a bit too much.

Agreed. I remember the story from my childhood, though. The movie, of course, looks nothing like it.

I didn't even know this was a real story.

This is what I was talking about that said "TWC hit a new low".
I didn't know which OCM it was, gang. Sorry. At least I know who it is now.
It's horrible product placement on the level of pure TWC blasphemy.
-
it's Very disappointing, it's cluttered all over twc's site and is slowing computers down.
-
It's already crashing my school's internet already. This is just ridiculus. We don't want to see a whole lot of the movie coming out.
-
...sorry for the double post, but I didnt know that Al Roker did a part in the movie! That's probably why TWC is promoting this too much.

Yes, Al Roker plays the character named Patrick Patrickson in that movie. That's definitely one reason TWC would promote it so much.

named Patrick Patrickson in that movie.
lol that's a coincidence :P

That explains part of it, but what studio is doing the movie? Universal?

Actually, the movie is from Sony Pictures, but not too sure about the studios.
-
Yeah, I've seen it a lot. Mike actually caught it when it aired as a mistake Wednesday morning, with the station ID info over the beginning of it :P
-
If Al Roker was a voice in the movie, why wasn't he in the spoof weather report?
-
It did seem to work: it won the weekend box office (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/20/chance-of-meatballs-crush_n_292717.html) for the week.

Nickelodeon is hyping up this movie as well.
