Title: Trammell or a striking resemblance?
Post by: lfmusiclover on November 06, 2008, 09:31:32 PM
I found an interesting video clip on Youtube earlier today. Its a commercial from 1996 for Rite Aid. It seems that the background tune sounds almost EXACTLY like Better Than Nothing by Trammell Starks. It's interesting because I had been having a memory of a commercial from about that time that had a background tune that sounded like Trammell, but I thought it was a Sprint commercial, not Rite Aid.

Anyway, take a listen for yourself:

Now, you have the best chance to listen in the first few seconds, as after that vocals come in as does a narrator. Does that not sound like Trammell?

Yeah that definitely sounds a lot like Fair Weather, except the beat is a bit slower.

Yeah it sounds almost exactly like it but slowed down. Weird.

I just sent in a request in the form of a comment on their Site, and I am hoping they can ID the song (I included the Vid URL)

Whilst I'm very happy that you did that, I seriously have doubts about them being able to tell us anything. That commercial is 12 years old!

It sounds like Trammell indeed. Trammell first released his music in 1996, which is the same date of that commercial's airdate.

And, according to my CDs, his music was published in 1995.

If that's not Trammell it's one heckuva coincidence.

Sorry for the bump but can someone email trammell and tell him if that's his song?

I thought someone did? Or maybe that was Rite Aid they contacted? But yeah, it'd be neat if someone could contact Trammell about this.

Well that's just great, the video had copyright claimed by Rite Aid? Since when would Rite Aid care?  :dunno:
