I hope the regular satellite doesn't change.
3 years is long enough!! I'm desperate for new SD Satellite graphics.

Satellite viewers have had it easy though. They don't go through the pain us Intellistars have to go through.

I wouldn't mind at all if they reverted to that set of graphics.

I hope the regular satellite doesn't change. Do you honestly want the graphics updated to what the Intellistar has, with that coldish, depressing, ugly background? I like the sun/lake out of the best, then the cloudy background used before the TWC 05 relaunch.

OMG. thats all i have to say...your constant complaining about the SD Satellite LF changing is quite annoying, get over it.

Same here, but I also liked the 2002-03 version.

BTW, Rich's pink tie that he's wearing tonight has tiny blue and yellow shapes in it; bet you non-HDers didn't know that. :P

Does anyone know if TWC's website will be relaunched on their HD transition?

I'd sure love a page to adjust to any resolution out there, and maybe some neato thingies in Weather Gold.

After just catching time for TWC since school has ended for me, I must say, everything looks beautiful thus far. Personally, I am going to miss the newsroom in the back of the studio. That was always fun to have, and is always fun to apply to a studio set, IMO. However, the colors nonetheless are astonishingly sassy and goregous; the HD promos look good (A+) and I will definately be tuning in on June the 1.  :thrilled:

A couple of propisitions: Could someone post the new YWT/EE logos (snapshots of them from the promo, etc)?  Also, what is the verdict as to what other shows will be premiering in HD at the same time?  I am curious as to what will occur: will Day Planner, Weather Center, etc. be broadcasting in SD in the old (*current*) studio on June 1? Or will they be broadcasted in SD from the HD set?

Moreover, I would love to know what else is in the new building besides the HD set. I am curious as to what production styles will be unvieled on June 1 as well as a possible revamping of production methods and structure/setup. There is still much in the way of missing links to this relaunch: I guess all of my questions will be answered next week! :)

Only YWT and EE are going HD on June 2nd. All other shows will probably stay in their old studios for the time being. Nothing else is in the new building, as far as I know. It's just a studio, I believe.

Here's a cap from the end of the YWT promo:

I have a good question:

If the main position of the desk is as it is in the promos and if the cameras for the projector screen need to be between the desk and the screen, how will they set it up so that the cameras won't be visible from the desk shots?

A national radar, followed by a national forecast map, then the Watches & Warnings/Thurnderstorm Forecast/Precip. Forecast sgement, and finally the usual five-day forecast. I can post a video soon if you'd like.
Would you mind posting this video, Steve? I don't believe I've yet seen a recording of the one minute flavor.
My super-awesome website!

I figured it was best to put this brand spanking new article into this thread instead of having this standing as a thread of its own. Here is a great article on today's edition of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution on The Weather Channel's new HD studio set to debut on June 2nd.

A couple of new photos will wow you, especially the one with Paul Goodloe in it.

Thanks for the article, Paul :D

Amazing photos there.  What I am really happy about, is that The WEather Channel is not going to use any more animated conditions for the  map forecasts, they are going back to SOLID COLORS (as it looks like from that picture).  Wahoo
