Title: Production Music Identification Thread
Post by: Mike M on June 05, 2015, 10:29:13 PM
Figured I'd create a thread to help us identify production tracks used by TWC (i.e. VideoHelper).

Anyone know what these two are?

I am trying really hard to find most of TWC's production tracks. I think I found pretty much all from VideoHelper. I contacted them about the unknown storm music everyone's been wanting to be identified but said that wasn't part of their library. Now I need to know if anyone here knows about any other production library they could've used during the 2008 relaunch. Any help would be greatly appreciated  :sos:

All tracks found from VideoHelper

 I have a feeling that the rest of the songs not found on VideoHelper is on KillerTracks. TWC has had a long history with Network Music which is a label of KillerTracks. I think the early 90s TWC started using Network Music for Local On The 8s.

Plus I found that one track I desperately wanted used during storm coverage "A Brutal Campaign". The Past 4 months I've at some points searched for hours on end looking in VideoHelper, Google Search, Searching this forum .etc. I also contacted VideoHelper trying to find the track but said it wasn't in their Library, looks like they were right. I contacted TWC's Director Of Television but never responding to my tweets which I didn't he would've anyway but gave it a shot.

Try going to killertracks.com and hover over music for and click News, then on the left side you can narrow it down by sound or event. I recommend Current Events as I found most of the music under that category. Also try VideoHelper.com and check albums VH020 to VH041. You can use the search bar and type in the albums. Also if you find a song and find another song with the same title but with Background or Alternate after it, those are the same songs but slightly different so don't waste your time looking at those. You find that in some albums so don't be alarmed if you find 150 songs in one album.

Now if only someone could find the full version of the production music from this era of Weather Center: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhkamYUewlE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhkamYUewlE)  I bet it was probably produced in-house and isn't on one of the commercial production sites, but man was this my favorite.

Is this production music from the early to mid 1990's on killer tracks? ! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CX5GRbqo7Q&list=PLD1AA7659A3479BFD#)   To me this was the best  of the weather channel -1991-1999.  When you can't sleep at night you could put on twc for some great OCMs.  Love you tube and the wayback throwbacks of TWC.

The first two tracks were made especially for TWC. A friend of mine found the original artist, but unfortunately the tracks are long gone. :(

The third song is called "A Day In The Park" by Network Music (it's also in the page title).

Hope this fits the theme of this thread, but I have been searching for leads on a few of the Weatherscan tracks added in 2007. Many believed these tracks to be Weatherscan exclusive, but thanks to a member of my Discord server, it has been revealed that two of the Weatherscan tracks have been used in the National Geographic documentary titled Human Footprint. Here's a couple instances where these tracks appear in the documentary:

Weatherscan Track 19 is used at the beginning of this clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnH8p7udD8E (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnH8p7udD8E)

Weatherscan Track 6 is used twice in this clip at 2:15 and 3:33:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxJma0Qed2Y (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxJma0Qed2Y)

I'm hoping this post will help us ID these tracks, and potentially many more. Any ideas or leads on production libraries to search/ask would be much appreciated.

While that may seem like it is the case, I have reason to believe it is not completely true. Somehow National Geographic got ahold of the tracks for use in the documentary that I linked above. This leads me to believe that they are most likely tracks sourced from a production music library.
