Its official, Geoffery Darby has officially been named programming director at TWC. Here's the article:

Something interesting I noticed in this article: Evidently, Deborah Wilson is no longer CEO of TWC. Apparently another woman is the interim CEO.
-
I wonder when TWC will air a weather-themed game show.
/Double Dare FTW.
-
I wonder if this guy is responsible for the new Weather Center?

ROFL, sounds good to me! :D :P

Seems the morons at TWCC think this is a bad thing. No surprise though I guess when you consider that we're dealing with the finest morons the internet has to offer.

When will they learn :censored:

Never. They aren't capable of learning. :D :P

TWC doesn't need to do a game show. The last few posts here suggest that we already have one: It's called "TWC Feud", which is based on the more popular "Family Feud". You can guess who are the two "families" in this show. :bleh:
On a more serious note, I'm surprised at this news, but TWC must have realized that they needed to make some drastic changes to improve their ratings. Let's just hope that everything will work out.

Geoferry Darby was a hell of a good choice, in my opinion.
Yeah, that feud is nothing new. Its been ongoing for several months. This shouldn't be the first you've seen of it either.

What has he done well that you know of? I don't know anything about him. :hmm:

:google2: :P
Seriously, though, he was pretty much single handedly responsible for making Nickelodeon a smashing success in the 90's. Just about everything the network had was a brainchild of his. Aside from that, his range of experiences elsewhere, such as Oxygen (I'm guessing you've heard of the channel), Viacom, and CBS I think makes him a very good candidate.

Hopefully the new Weather Center w/Abrams and Bettes wasn't his idea. <_<

Are you talking about the show itself or the name?
-
I happen to like the new Weather Center. Its very reminiscent of what WC used to be, which is a-ok with me.
-
You really think so? It seems like three hours of fluff to me, just like the original Abrams & Bettes in 2006.
The Paul and Alexandra version is ok, though.

He co-created the game show Double Dare in the mid-80s.

It's funny you say that. The original A&B always seemed rather fluffy to me.
I think we all can agree though that the absence of long form is certainly a stroke of genius.

I agree. It's great that they've extended it (instead of leaving it one hour at 4 PM ET, which never made sense) and added more features to the program, making it a more unique program.
-
Meh, I still think the content leaves much to be desired. It's basically 2006 A&B all over again.

My thoughts exactly.

Ya just can't make some people happy. :bleh:

It's more interactive with viewers, and I like that. That is what a local station here is trying to do at 6:30, make it a little more interactive (with Twitter as well). I like the new Abrams and Bettes WC. I like the whole new weather center

That's why I prefer the November-February run of A&B/A&B EE the most. There was more weather content, and there was interactivity.

There was also more long form.
