in case you didn't read the Dave Schwartz thread in the OCMs & Personalities, the world lost a great weatherman today as Dave Schwartz lost his battle with Cancer today.

he will be greatly missed.

RIP Dave Schwartz.

WHAT!!?!?! That was abrupt and sudden! Well at least we got to see him on TWC once more. He will be greatly missed.  I was just watching his classic TWC videos just last night, and I'm still in shock just typing this. I still remember him watching him in the afternoon / early evening back in my elementary years. Best wishes to him and his family.

TWC is playing their "Breaking News" theme during local forecasts. I guess the Storm Alert music is no more?

You mean they aren't in Red Mode?

Nick Walker and Ray Stagich just came on for Hermine coverage. Those two along with Jacqui Jeras have been the only ones to appear in Atlanta besides Forbes, Norcross and Lowry and the live field reporting tonight.

The coverage is great. The local forecast music has that a storm is out there sound.

I agree. The coverage was splendid.  I was able to watch via the Local Now app and The Weather Channel's live coverage was spot-on! I ended up watching continuously for over one hour.

Just thought I'd pitch in with a discovery I've just found using the LocalNow app.
Turns out if you do the sideloading method to install the app (It's not available in the UK for obvious reasons) and run your web traffic through a US proxy you can access and watch all of the LocalNow feeds. I'm currently watching severe weather coverage through Greensboro's feed.

I suppose it's the closest I'll get to watching TWC live

Sideloading is installing apps via apk packages that weren't downloaded from the Google Play Store :)

I'm starting to think Alex Wilson is like this decade's version of Stephanie Abrams. And if Crystal Egger was still on the network, she probably would have been the Alexandra Steele. Or maybe Crystal was supposed to be the new Stephanie but those plans backfired when she left.

Speaking of backfiring plans, I still low-key cackle at Kait Parker leaving the network and forcing TWC to bring back Kelly Cass full time. Like...you just know that TWC was NOT expecting one of their favorites to leave like that.

With Matthew continuing to be very powerful in the Caribbean, I wonder how TWC will cover this once it gets closer to the US

Kait is still doing some things on the network. I have seen her on some videos and even The Lift a little bit.
