Not really a blooper, but the ldl and lower thirds are missing during the 4:20PM Weekly Planner.

It's been like that since 2:40pm ET

Honestly, this imo seems to be a step above their production post-2008 meltdown.. how can a data outage from hours prior prevent lower thirds from cuing? the LDL not cuing i can understand

Yeah, Day Planner is obviously a fail show today.

Yeah, Day Planner is obviously a fail show today.

You have to give them credit for at least trying to put on as decent a show as they can.

That said, I've noticed that equipment failures seem to be MUCH more common than they used to be.  In previous years going back to when I started watching TWC in the late 1980s, equipment failures were extremely uncommon, or they were simply able to cover problems up so well that it was impossible to notice.

Recently, though, equipment problems of one type or another seem to be happening much more often.  I wish I knew why.

I know, but we usually just use the term "fail show" for events like these anyway.

I can understand the cuing problems, a dead battery in a remote, or even a wrong camera shot, but misspelling words, leaving out annotations (temperature maps), and the like is a bit much.  People can't be that distracted when putting it together. :(

At 1AM Eastern Time, TWC used the old Abrams and Bettes weather center intro that had Mike and Steps picture in it.

This intro, but with different music I think.

A few minutes ago, Cleveland was misspelled as "Clevelnad." Also, when this storm was forming last week, an L3rd read, "We are covering this storm on on air, online, and on mobile."

Thats IMO why i think running LDLs VIZ|RT is a bad idea :bleh:
The use of Vizrt had nothing to do with it. The issue all had to deal witha  network failure within TWC.

Quite a coincidence then because of what the HD LF last Wednesday did and recently a lot of Vizrt products have been aliased in texture and design.. (noticeable on the HD feed mostly)

Today on WC they showed a flashback of all three of Jim's thundersnow incidents, but on the second one they got the year wrong. It happened in 2008, but the L3rd said 1998. Don't think they had the blue bar of death and HD lower thirds that long ago. :P
