I disagree. Current, yes. Varied, no. Bright and upbeat, not always.
But isn't it varied? They have jazz, country, pop music and i've even some classic rock. I don't follow what they play very closely so perhaps I'm not on the same page.
The genres, yes. The sound, no (IMO).

I never even found the music from the early years be bright and upbeat.

For example: Green Into Gold is one of the most depressing and haunting piano melodies I've ever heard.

Notice what was said about the music. It was their intent to keep it upbeat, varied, current and bright. One might argue that TWC is simply returning to this way of thinking.

which (above) was the definition of Smooth Jazz, New Age and Instrumentals that aired before 2012, then TWC decided to become a American Top 40/Hits radio station.

Which is why i can't watch TWC for more than 5 minutes anymore. I am grateful for the previous 27 years of good music that aired on LF's
