For how long was the weather newsroom shown for cable systems that did not have the Weather Star local forecast?

This was already posted in the "30 years of TWC" thread. Either way, it's really cool none the less.

Did TWC do local forecasts immediately after their debut?

I didnt want to post a whole topic for this, but It has been exactly ten years since I stumbled accidentally onto TWC Classics, when it was called "Matt's Guide To The Weather Channel" on 3/10/2003 at night

I'm still amazed you remember the date. I couldn't tell you the date I discovered a major site, let alone a fan site. I appreciate your loyalty. :D

April 24, 2005 for me! :D It was a cloudy and chilly Sunday afternoon and I accidentally discovered the site while searching for Weatherscan images. The rest of the day I was hooked on that site watching WSXL clips.

Landmark is a top notched company and continues to operate a fine media empire from my hometown. Frank Batton was a genius in building both the company and TWC.

Notice what was said about the music. It was their intent to keep it upbeat, varied, current and bright. One might argue that TWC is simply returning to this way of thinking.

For some reason it's still not sinking in for some well after a year that this is what they're doing. It has nothing to do with wanting to ruin their brand.

I couldn't agree more.

I disagree. Current, yes. Varied, no. Bright and upbeat, not always.

which (above) was the definition of Smooth Jazz, New Age and Instrumentals that aired before 2012, then TWC decided to become a American Top 40/Hits radio station.

But isn't it varied? They have jazz, country, pop music and i've even some classic rock. I don't follow what they play very closely so perhaps I'm not on the same page.

For me, it was October 6, 2006. I came across it and was pleasantly shocked  :o  to see the old time footage and photos from the weather channel. I was thrilled!  :thrilled:
